Comic book company 88 MPH Studios has teamed with Disney Publishing Worldwide to develop and release a comic book series based on the universe of TRON.

Two four issue mini-series are being planned by 88 MPH. The first will serve as a sequel to Disney's TRON 2.0 PC video game, -scheduled for release next month. TRON 2.0 follows the adventures of 20-year-old Jet Bradley, son of Alan Bradley (played by Bruce Boxleitner in the 1982 movie) as he explores the digital world. The first issue of the full-color series will be out sometime this winter.

The second TRON mini-series will launch in spring 2004 and be set 20 years in the past. It will revisit the characters from the Disney movie.

It was a pretty cool movie for its time. If they ever finally decide to do a sequel it would be awesome with all the things they can do now. The comic looks interesting. I'll have to look through it when it comes out.

There is so much discussion going on about a sequel, now that computer animation has become so hot. So too would a sequel be!

This one's been in the works now for a couple of years. Hopefully they will greenlight it.

Yes, and hopefully it'll be a theatrical realease, and not a cheap direct-to-video thing like for example George of the Jungle 2!!

It's totally immersed in it's time period. (80's video games.)

The sequel would be a cinema release...no direct route for it.
