Considering the strong following for both Johnny Depp & Orlando something alone, there would have been a large turn out for this movie.
Add into that that the fact it was the first Disney movie to be rated PG-13, there was no way this movie was going to miss!

10.5 mil on Thursday for Pirates...

This would be another #1 day. From the future, editing my post, I predict BIG THINGS for the Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

By the way, with a $14,810,000 estimate for Friday, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was #1 again, beating League of Extraordinary Gentlement, which just had its opening day on Friday. It was #2 with an estimated $7,740,000

It's on pace to retain the #1 spot (has been #1 since its release)

Estimate for Friday has been revised to $15,039,000 for Pirates, which will keep it in first place for that day.

Saturday's estimate for Pirates is $17,467,000, which will mean another first place spot.

Sunday's estimate for Pirates is $13,900,000, still first place.

For Saturday and Sunday's estimates, Pirates is in first place by more than 2 times the 2nd place's (League of Extraordinary Gentlement) box office estimates.

Nemo is expected to keep the #5 spot for the weekend.

The movie is doing extremely well. As I said above, it has been first place in the box office every day since it was released, and "For Saturday and Sunday's estimates, Pirates is in first place by more than 2 times the 2nd place's (League of Extraordinary Gentlement) box office estimates"

Pirates has a total gross estimate currently of over $70 mil. since Wednesday - this is already half of the production costs, and this (Sunday) is only day 5!
