Alice DVD Set Specs...

Alice in Wonderland: 2-Disc Masterpiece Edition Special Edition (it's not really clear why it has two names, but until we know which name is taking precedence, we'll be redundant, too)

Technical Specifications:
1.33:1 Original Aspect Ratio, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, French & Spanish Tracks

Bonus Features:

Disc 1 - Virtual Wonderland Party, "The Unbirthday Song" Sing-Along Song, "All in the Golden Afternoon" Sing-Along Song, "Adventures in Wonderland" Set-Top Game, Unused song - "I'm Odd", Animated Short - "Through the Mirror" (1936)

Disc 2 - "One Hour in Wonderland" Special, An Alice Comedy: Alice's Wonderland, Theatrical Trailers (hurray - they're including them!), Walt Disney Introductions (1954 and 1964), "Operation Wonderland" (which was on the Gold Collection DVD, as well), "The Fred Waring Show", Abandoned Content: "From Wonderland to Neverland", Deleted Storyboard Concept: "Alice Daydreams in the Park", Song Demos: "Beware the Jabberwock", "Everything Has a Useness", "So They Say", "Beautiful Soup", "Dream Caravan", "If You'll Believe in Me", Art Galleries "and more."

Release date, as stated several times before, is January 27, 2004. The 2-disc reissues of Pocahontas and Lilo & Stitch will be coming later in 2004.

While it still seems they're trying to appease folks who like games and sing-alongs, this release definitely seems to put more focus on content of substance. While most (if not all) of the laserdisc goodies will be ported over, it apparently will not have an Audio Commentary, unless Disney is hiding that, like they did for Sleeping Beauty and The Lion King. Of course, all of this is subject to change, as always. If it doesn't, there seems to be no reason at all to hold on to the Gold Collection disc.

Ed...speaking of the "laser-disc" version...
I still have my Laserdisc player, and a stack of LD's. Unfortunately no Disney discs. Any idea where copies can still be found?

BTW...isn't hilarious that all the info that is on my 4 disc set of Jurassic Park fits on to one itty bitty DVD?

this is actuallty one of my least favorite Disney movies cause i just dont like the story (I found it scary as a kid) but i'll probably get it so i can add it to my collection - plus a dvd is so much easier to watch than a VHS tape .

as for Disney LD you can find them pretty regularly on a particular auction site that sounds like D-Day

Wasn't Disney's first major television show one big commercial for 'Alice in Wonderland'? It would be great if that was included on the set as well.

"One Hour In Wonderland" was indeed considered the first "infomercial" episode.

and Frank-Try Ebay. They generally have Laserdiscs. I only have one in my collection.(And I don't have a player I might add!) I got it at the Disney Outlet store we had about 50 miles from here when it was still there. It's closed now. I got Snow White. What's so funny is that it was origianlly stickered at $24.99. Other price reducing stickers where all around the original sticker and...well...for $1.44...I couldn't bring myself not to get it! Player or not! LOL!

Wow the cover art looks really interesting... It's too bad my mom won't buy DVDs that we already have on VHS but I guess I can agree with her that they are tto expensive to replace right now.
