Fantasmic is definately a MUST see and worth every minute of staying late. I guess it depends on the ages of your kids on whether they will enjoy it or not. A few years ago when I took my kids to Disneyland, who were 6 and 12 at the time, the first night we caught the tale end of it and they wanted to see the whole thing, so the next night we set up "camp" on a blanket straight across from the main stage area 3 hours before it started so we could be in the front row.
I definatly recomend seeing Fantasmic once. It's an awsome show. I've seen the show at Disneyland a bunch, but have only attempted to see the show once at WDW.
We did the Dinner Package a few months ago. We ate at Mama Melroses, it was very yummy, and the package includes tons of food! It rained during the show so they shut it down and everyone got wet. What we did see my 3 year old and 5 year old loved.

fantasmic is a must see, the show is spectacular, and i dont feel it was necessary to buy the dinner package, ive done it and it wasnt worth it because they designate seats for package buyers all the way to the side rows and to see the show properly u want to be center stage. All u need to do is arrive at the theatre atleast an hour earlier to get good seats, u can buy snacks and quick dinners inside the theatre and kill some time.

Oh wow, I never knew that, never been to WDW (someday). Is the show the same or is there differences? Also I would imagine the atmosphere is different, I like the openess of watching it at Disneyland.

If I recall the show in disneyland, its pretty much the same show, but yes there is a different atmosphere because of the fact that your not fighting anyone for a view, u are sitting in seats and relaxed, and also its a different kind of set with the mountain like stage, meaning the mountain is different then the thunder mounatain one they use in disneyland

Yeah it's a great show. I think most kids like it a lot, if you have those that are kind of sensitive to pyro get them some ear plugs because it's really spectacular. I know I don't like fireworks and have to wear the ear plugs but it's well worth it.

The show at WDW has more of a "story line" because of the special lagoon and stage built just for it. The characters vary slightly. But the whole message of good versus evil is still a big part of it. Theres a bit more Pyro and bigger water effects.

Fantasmic is a MUST see!!!! It really is a great show - its pure disney magic!!! We did the dinner package one year, and it was very nice, but I don't think its necessary. Like Janine said, the seats are towards the sides of the theatre. We usually get there about an hour or an hour and a half before the show starts. The wait is definitly worth it!!!!

Just saw Fant this weekend! I had seen it in Calif., but was not impressed. This weekend, my friends wanted to go, so I went as well. I was in for a BIG surprise! I didn't realize it was in a big ampitheater, either, and it was great! We ended up doing a Fastpass for Rock-n-Rollercoaster at 6:30 and got to the theater late. As it turned out, we were supposed to be standing room only, and then as the show started, the CM opened the handicapped seating on the top row in the center. We lucked out, and I hope I got some great photos.
Yes, it is different than DLR...there is a whole scene with the settlers and the Indians from Pocahontas that I didn't remember in DLR. It was awesome, and definitely worth the stay!

Sounds like the version out there is a little different than out here. Does anyone happen to have soundtracks from both? I have it from DLR, and think it's great! Would love to know if it is scored differently.
