7 Days for the Price of 2 Offer


MouseSavers.com reader Carrie S found what looks to be a great deal on Universal tickets. Get 7 days for the price of 2! This is a "Stay and Play Pass" good for 7 consecutive days from the date of first use to Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk.

The price is $99.95 for adults and $89.95 for kids (ages 3-9). This price includes tax, so these would actually be slightly cheaper than a 2-Day/2-Park pass.

The offer appears on RCICommunity.com, which is a major timeshare owners' web site. Carrie reports that she was able to order these tickets through the site with no problem. There is a space on the order form for "RCI Member ID" but it isn't a required field. Note that the tickets are not shipped to you; you must pick them up at a Guest Services window at the theme parks when you arrive. Carrie reports that she only had to show a photo ID to pick up the pass, and was not required to show RCI membership.

Online 2-Park Annual Power Pass

This is an Annual Pass with quite a few blackout days (mainly summer weekends, Christmastime and Spring Break time) at a lower price than the Preferred Annual Pass. Does not include parking or food/merchandise discounts. It is not always offered. When it's available, you can usually order it online at the Universal Studios Ticket Booth web site. Currently it's only available through the Orlando AAA office.

Coke/Burger King "Buy One Year, Get Second Year FREE" Annual Pass

Buy a Preferred Annual Pass at the regular price ($169.95 plus tax) and get an extra year FREE! You can purchase this special offer online with a bar code number from Burger King or Coke. (Click on Annual Pass, then the link for Burger King code and use 6106111030025.) You must purchase by 5/31/04. All passes will expire 6/30/06, or two years from first date of use, whichever comes first.

You can also buy these passes in person at the Universal gates, but you'll need a specially-marked Coke package or a Burger King coupon, which are distributed only in Florida (not sure if it's all of Florida -- definitely at least Orlando and Miami). Limit 6 passes per coupon.

If you are a member of AAA, you can take the specially-marked Coke package or Burger King coupon into the Orlando AAA office and purchase the "Second Year Free" Annual Passes for $5 less ($164.95 plus tax). Limit 6 passes per coupon.

AAA/CAA Discounts at the Gate

All AAA and CAA members can save $4 on a 2-Day Pass and $5 off a 3-Day Pass when purchasing tickets at the gate. Valid for up to six people per membership card.

AAA Advance Purchase Discounts

Different AAA regions have different Universal offers. Some have great deals that are available to all US members; some have deals available only to local members; a few (particularly in the West) don't offer any Universal Orlando deals at all.

Auto Club South offices in Florida, Georgia and western Tennessee allow AAA members from any region (except as noted) to purchase specially priced Universal tickets on a walk-in basis (no phone orders). The Orlando office is located at 4300 East Colonial Drive. Call (407) 894-3333 for hours and directions. (They have a web site, but only Auto Club South members can order online, and the prices are higher online.)

There are other AAA regions that offer similar prices (in a few cases, slightly better). After extensive research, I've found that the best prices on Universal Orlando tickets are through the following AAA chapters: Michigan, Nebraska, Missouri, Southern New England and Oklahoma. Note: these chapters are listed roughly from least to most expensive, not including shipping, which varies a lot. The chapters listed may or may not allow people from other regions to purchase passes through their web sites or in person. At the request of AAA, I have not given the direct links to the various regions' web sites, but you can look them up through a search engine like Google.

CAA Advance Purchase Discounts

Canadians can get special pass discounts through the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA). Note that most offers are available to non-members (though there is sometimes a surcharge if you are not a member). Check with your local office for special offers.

Universal Fan Club Discounts

Fan Club membership is available from your employee services or Human Resources Department. Fan Club cards are issued through your employer and not to individuals.

Ticket Mania

Ticket Mania, a ticket broker in Orlando, offers discounted 1-, 2- and 3-Day passes. In addition, Ticket Mania is offering discounted 2-Day passes with one FREE day for a limited time -- you get three days for less than the gate price of two! All three days must be used within a week of the first use of the pass. These special passes are $94 for adults and $81 for kids (including tax), with FREE shipping. You can buy your tickets online through a secure server and have them delivered to your home. This is a dependable ticket broker and has a good rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Hotel Frequent Stay Points

You can trade in Hilton HHonors points for free Universal Orlando tickets. It takes 20,000 points for an adult 1 Day/1 Park ticket and 15,000 points for a child 1 Day/1 Park ticket. 2 Day passes and VIP passes are also available at higher point levels.

You can trade in Marriott Rewards points for free Universal Orlando tickets. It takes 16,000 points for an adult 1 Day/1 Park ticket and 13,000 points for a child 1 Day/1 Park ticket. At higher point levels you can also get 3 Day passes.
