It is different from the "move over LAW" and so there is no confusion the move over law differs becuase this means the police officer is already stoped in the shoulder or travel lane with there lights on, you are required to move over 1 lane or if that is not safely possible to do you must slow to a speed that is less then 20 mph below the posted speed limit, or if the speed limit is under 25 mph you must slow to 5 mph.
