Well...there's Hurricane Bonnie in the gulf right now. That's kicking up a few problems all over the south.
It's currently aimed at us here in New Orleans, but with an upper high coming in from the west and entering the gulf, it is expected to aim towards Mississippi/Alabama and could very likely reach the western end of Florida even. No matter what, the gulf states are all in for some rough weather in the upcoming week!
Definitely something for all of us in the Gulf states to be watching for, and prepare. It's that time of year again.

Yes it sure is that time. I'm worried for all my friends up in Tally as it's supposed to be headed in that general vicinity. Also we've got Charley down there threatening the West coast of Florida, so for a while here it seems like we may get it from all sides.

Lord. I've been so inundated with info on Bonnie that I wasn't even aware that we're already up to Charley! Definitely a nervous time of year for the gulf states, hunh?

Go to the parks on rainy days! Of course not if there is a hurricane! It rains almost everyday in the summer in Florida. The parks are the best on rainy days because so many people stay away! Throw on your bright yellow Mickey poncho & have a great time!

It's central Florida, it's the summer, it rains everyday here. It's not that big of a deal though. Stick around, the crowds thin out and the rain usually lets up fairly quickly.

Sno's got it right, usually it rains for 10 or 15 minutes, somtimes hard and then will rain lightly for a while. I'm the type that the rain doesn't bug me at all, so we just plug ahead, but just rough it out, wait for people to leave and take advantage of it.

We had the same luck when we went to WDW. We check into the hotel, turn on the TV and look at the weather forecast. Thunderstorms were forecast for the next 7 days, the duration of our trip. I thought "Man what great luck I have in choosing a vacation time!"
It rained one afternoon when we were in the MK (really good thunder too. Funny to watch people who have never been around a good storm scream and run for cover). Other than that, the days were hot and sunny, and it usually rained in the evenings or in the night, with some good lightning to watch.
Bottom line, don't always trust the forecast, but then I think everybody already knows that They always forecast the worst, so if they end up being wrong then a bunch of people aren't upset.
Edit: yes most people won't go out in the rain. When it started on us, people left in droves. Probably the quietest I had seen the park all day that day.

I have been using Weatherbug for several years now and it allows me to check weather conditions anywhere is the U.S. It also allows for storm tracking and much more.
It is a small freeware application that sits in the sys tray of your PC.
You may find it useful.

Weatherbug is good, but it leaves a lot of spyware on your computer.
Another thing about the rain- just because it shows rain doesn't mean it's raining in the park you choose to go to. Epcot and the Studios are right across the street from each other, we've had it pouing and lightening strike us at the Studios and Epcot not get a drop. Or even better, I've gotten poured on in the Cast lot at the Studios and it's perfectly dry at Tower of Terror.

I'll have to agree that while Weatherbug is a nice little program, it really isn't good for your computer. As a network administrator for the base here, it's easily one of the most dreaded "useful" applications that users manage to get and install.
Maybe it's been improved recently, although I'm too scared to try it out. Last I saw though, Weatherbug came with GAIN (Gator), one of the more popular forms of adware/spyware. And it's a pain in the butt to get rid of that stuff.
