many questions

Ok so hubby and I have many questions about planning our next trip to WDW. Last time we went was 7/00 for about 5 days it wasn't very well thought out or planned we bought the tickets and the hotel off of some internet site that we thought was a good deal. We drove to florida from pa took us one too many hours. This time we would like to do it right, get the tickets ahead of time stay in one of the resorts(hopefully POR),fly down, make PS arrangements ahead of time. We ate at cinderellas castle last time at 9 at night because that was the soonest we could get in for dinner cause we didn't call ahead of time. Anyways this time we are hoping to be down there for about 8 days or so what is the best way to go about this. We are flying in on a friday and then on sat. and sun. we are going to try discovery cove and sea world then the rest of the time be at disney. Should we rent a car when we get there? Stay on disney property the whole time? Buy an annual pass to save on the hotel? We probably won't be going back to disney in a year after we go but it seems like you can save alot. So if we buy an AP for one of us should we get it now along with the regular pass or wait till next year. Also my understanding is that they only give the AP holders discounts at certain times of the year how am I going to know when next year that is? Do I make reservations now for next july and hope it's then. So much confusion because we really wanna go all out and do it right this time. Sorry for the long post just have alot of questions. Thanks ahead of time

Wow! I'm sure the experts here can help you as soon as they come onboard. Everyone here is happy and eager to help!

A suggestion though...if you can...try to seperate your questions in the future with breaks like small paragraphs so that it's easier to follow your thoughts.(And make it easier to figure out where the questions are that need answering.)

Right now it's a solid block of info and a little hard to surf through to follow. Seperating might help get all the info you need quicker. Does that sound allright? It's just a suggestion.

Mickey good idea 8-ed to separate qs...

it would be easier that way those of us who know very little (yours truly) can answer the few questions that we can....

it is my understanding that an annual pass unlimited can be purchased, but i dont know if thats strictly for florida residents. if youre going to other parks, you must rent a car, or youre subject to cabs and alleged shuttle buses, which, in my opinon and experience, can be extremely unreliable.

if you stay on disney property, you can get the length-of-stay pass, which t58 will probably elaborate on (both babies are crying, so i cant get into it really good right now).

youll never get a reservation for cinderellas royal table unless you call eXACTLY 60 days in advance (i think 60 is the # of days, t58 knows this one too, i believe), and EXACTLY at 7:00 a.m. THATS NO JOKE. try the crystal palace...they have excellent food and characters as well, and even at busy times of the year you can almost always get a seat. check the restaurant review (link on talk disney opening page) for other restaurants....

idea: rent the car for the first three days...go to those other two parks FIRST. stay OFF Disney property and closer to THOSE parks (I think you MUST have your length-of-stay pass for the exact # of days youre staying on disney property, not sure...they may make you get a park hopper instead...DEFINITELY check into this one). turn in the rental car (At the airport, i assume thats where youll pick it up at) and take a shuttle to the disney resort. that way your dont pay for 5 days of a rental car youll probably not hardly use....but others would argue that a rental car is a MUST so that you can eat off the resort and check out orlando...that would be a personal choice.

if youare FOR SURE going next year, i would get the annual pass (Especially since your staying for so long). BUT YOU MUST USE IT WITHIN THAT ONE -YEAR PERIOD. so if youre going the end of july this time, you cant go any later than mid-july next year in order to cover yourself.

some of these questions can be answered on the main line (407-w-disney) and expect t58 to sell you the disney club membership!!! (hahaha!)...im sure she will be happy to tell you how that can help you out with your planning.

have a wonderful next trip and when you plan ahead, and when things go much smoother, its often a better trip!!!!! :&crumple:

Sorry so many questions like that. I have the patience of I don't know what but I don't have much....I'm so used to just asking a bunch of questions at work having them all answered and I usually write a paragraph at work too...Thank you mariejain for all of your info there. I so very much just want to do it right this time and I think I'm just so excited I can hardly wait till next year to go. Well hopefully I won't ramble too often with too many things I'll try to be more direct and short.....Thanks again I'm so glad we found this board

We're not saying to be brief or short...

Just seperate your thoughts.

It make it easier to follow what you are asking instead of bunching it all together.

A full paragraph is harder to dissect than seperate questions posed individually.

(Use your enter key.)

Do you think I should re-direct my questions now or wait for more replies from this thread?

If you post it...they will come.

Maybe you can create another thread with a new subject title focusing on something that didn't get answered this time that you REALLY have to know.
