Hello First timers form Illinois

I guess I am not actually a first timer I was there once 18 years ago my husband is the first timer. We are planning our trip for Feb. 8 nights 9 days. We are thinking about Pop Century. I guess I could use a little help on what we need to do and what we can't miss. This is our last trip before our first child is born in July. Am I crazy for going 4 months pregnant?? we have really wanted to come to Disney World for quite a while so decided now was the best time.
Any advice on what to do and where to eat (my husbands favorite thing) I would like to stay at a value resort because I am not that concerned about our room. I know disney does things right and can't really justify spending a ton of money on a room when I can stay at a nice hotel for so much less. I figured as long as we were at a disney resort we can't go wrong. Would any of the other value resorts be better? Basicly I need HELP!!! Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

1. Welcome to TD!

2. Congratulations on your first child - we just found out yesterday that we will be expecting our first child in August! It's nice having another soon to be mommy here on TD!

3. You are not crazy for wanting to visit WDW 4 months pregnant - I'll be there in May (6 months) not really recommended but I know how to take it easy - Peter Pan is about as crazy as it's gonna get for me...

As for places to eat there are tons and tons of threads on here which would give you a good idea of all our favorites - just type in "dining" in the search option- you'll see what I mean!

I think the POP is a great option - but be sure to book a preferred room over the standard - you'll never know the value of $10 until you do - being closer to the front of a huge hotel is worth every single penny of that $10 - especially being pregnant...

Hope you have a wonderful vacation! And again, Congratulations!

Welcome to Talkdisney

Pop century is a great hotel and one of the best layouts of buildings you are never more then a 3 to 5 min walk to the main building/food court/bus stops. If your going to be there for 8 nights you'll have time to do just about everything you want to, however there will be several rides they will not recomend you ride if your pregnent.

Welcome to TD, SDoll! Don't let being pregnant keep you from enjoying your tiime at WDW, your body will tell you what you can and cannot do! The signs posted at the attractions will tell you the rest.
4 months is actually a good time to go, you should be though with any "morning sickness" by then and more comfortable. Just be sure to follow your MD's advice and do not overdo anything.

Welcome! We prefer PoP Century of all of the value resorts and the rooms are just as good here as in the moderate and deluxe resorts. The Everything PoP! food court there has just about that...everything you could want to eat, even after-hours.

And let me just say...Jesserin...you couldn't be more right about paying the extra $10 for the preferred rooms...SDoll, you should definitely ask if you have or can get a preferred room if you haven't already.

As far as places to eat at the parks...Liberty Tree Tavern is one of our family's personal favorites (Just call ahead for preferred seating)...Also, we are BIG advocates of the Mickey's Backyard BBQ...all you can eat hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, corn on the cob, cornbread, watermelon, and on and on and on...all with a dinner show, characters, all you can drink and dessert. A GREAT return on your money if you're hungry. It's at Fort Wilderness so it is very peaceful and very scenic...just be aware that it is outside (dry-under a pavilion) but open on the sides so temperature matters.

We like the 50's PrimeTime Cafe at MGM, and have never eaten anything except fast food at Animal Kingdom...Epcot has too many yummy places to mention.

Good luck and welcome again. Let us know if we can help with anything else.

-Jeff

Welcome to TD!! I'd suggest that you dig around on the forums a bit to get a feel for what's new and exciting at WDW. And of course, if you have any questions, ask away. We have a great gang of folks here at TD who are always more than willing to offer a hand.

Hello SDoll.

So your from Illinois, huh? I'm not far from you. I'm from Nebraska. Well we both have one thing in common. We both border the State of Iowa.

Anyway. I hope you'll enjoy yourself here at TalkDisney.
