I think that in the "olden days", actors were contracted to a particular movie studio (eg. MGM, 20th Centuary Fox), and I guess Disney. There are loads of Disney movies that have the same actors voices, including Dumbo, Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks as well as all those you have already mentioned. Phil Harris was the voice of many Disney characters incluing Little John, Thomas O'Malley (The Aristocats), Baloo the Bear to name just a few.

The Sheriff of Nottingham is the same voice (Pat Buttram) as Napoleon, one of the dogs in the Aristocats and Chief, the old dog in Fox and the Hound and Luke, the swamp mouse in the Rescuers...he was also a voice in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Sterling Holloway, who did the voices for Pooh and Kaa, also did the voice for the stork at the beginning of Dumbo, the voice of Flower as an adult in Bambi and the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.

There are many more voices that appear in multiple movies, and it is always neat to try to guess where I've heard that voice before!

Thanks for starting the thread! Neat topic.

Most of those actors I was already aware of, especially David Ogden Stiers.

But if you are ever curious about other actors, www.imdb.com is a good place to start your search.

Hey, I wasn't sure where to add this so I thought I might add it here. I know it is a little off topic, sorry, but I thought it might be a little interesting. The voice actor who played the boy (pardon me but I forgot his name at the moment), in Disney's "The Sword in the Stone", has different voice changes throughout the film. See, the movie itself took many months to complete and the child, who was a preteen at the age, who's voice was the boy in the "Sword of the Stone", had a higher pitch voice in the beginning of the film. But throughout the film's process, the voice actor's voice had deepened. So towards the ends of the actual film, you can tell the boy's (forgive me), voice is a little deeper than before at the beginning of the film...

P.S. What was that boy's name who was in Disney's "Sword in the Stone"???

    Here's another one for y'all:

John Fiedler is best known for being the voice of Piglet in the many different Winnie the Pooh films/series. He also did the voices for the Old Man who messed up Kuzco's groove in The Emperor's New Groove, the Porcupine in The Fox and the Hound, Deacon Owl in The Rescuers, and the Sexton in Robin Hood.

Seems like there's pretty good job security once you land a gig with Disney!
