Well, inside the park the Partners Hub area is the absolute best place.
As for resorts, I would think that the Polynesian has a good view and maybe the Contemporary.
A good place to watch Wishes outside the park has to be the polynesian if u get the right seats...We had seats next to seats that were infront of the window...its awsome because they play the audio inside the poly. while the fireworks are goin on...its a pretty nice view ..

Ashly Berenato "Paging Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow. Your party from Saturn has arrived. Please give them a ring. "
At the end of Main Street before you get to the castle itself. It's the hub that has the Partner's statue with Walt and Mickey holding hands. Basically, it's center stge for the presentation.

Just Beth now! ****I Love WDW****
"Drink up me Hardees... Yo Ho"
One day in Disney is better than none !!!
"A man has to believe in something... I believe i will have another drink"
Well...that last trip to WDW a few weeks ago I ws stuck on the bridge to Tomorrowland with some students and it wasn't as good a viewing point as straight on looking at the castle.

I have one place many of you probably haven't thought of...
If you can, go to Cinderella's Castle for dinner. Get a window table overlooking Fantasyland. Make sure the fireworks are scheduled to go off during dinner. They launch most of the fireworks from behind the Castle.
There's sound insulation on the windows, so you don't really hear any "booms" like you would if you were outside when the fireworks are launched. But you do still hear the booms in the air (if that makes any sense).
They pipe the music inside the castle, so it's like you're outside watching it, but you have a front row seat.
I did this when I proposed to the future Mrs.NewsGuy7 at the castle back at the beginning of April. We both loved it.
Incidently, the fireworks were during dinner before the proposal. I popped the question after dinner (complete with a glass slipper). But that's another topic....I will say the staff at the Castle (dinner and breakfast) is FANTASTIC!!!! If you go, see if you can get seated in Fernando's section. He rocks!!!
I've seen it from a few different spots at the Poly that were pretty good.
As for getting a window seat in Cindy's for it, you were able to because of the propsal. It's not something you can request. Any other time, it's first available, and if you get a window seat good deal, and if you don't you try again next time

Oh my yes, Cinderella's castle is a magical place to watch the fireworks
I was eating there with my daughters and their husbands, We had a window seat.
At the time, I had forgotten about the fireworks, not realizing what time of day it was.
And as we sat enjoying our disney experience, the fireworks started.....It was so magical for me and my daughters.......We immediately stopped talking and were just
engulfed in the Magic moment...........
