What happened to Alien Encounter?!

I have visited WDW many times, and on my most recent trip I was shocked to see that they were going to be replacing Alien Encounter with a "stich" Version. Does anyone have any info about this!? I haven't been on the new ride, but I'm extreamly dissapointed that AE is gone!!!

It's already opened. It seems that the Disney company wanted to theme the attraction with one if it's own characters and following that mindset, it makes sense.

Well dont fret.. because its the exact same attraction minus Alien and insert Stich... boo ! i liked alien better !!! but hey, im ok with it... Hey DP went on the Evil dolls i can except Stitch.. lol

No, no other parks but Disney please! Disneyland's Tomorrowland needs this attraction. Not Stitch of course, but the original The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter.

I was VERY dissapointed that AE was replaced by STITCH. I loved AE. It just isnt the same with Stitch. I'm sure the little ones like it though since its been Disneyized. Not at all scary, just cutsey, wutsey. Oh well, I guess thats what they have Dinasour for. I still scream my head off everytime I go on there !!

But Dinosaur isn't Disnized! There are obviously a couple of couble standards here... What will happen next? Switch Dinosaur too?!

It used to be Countdown to Extintiction. After the movie Dinosaur came out, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0130623/, the name of the ride was changed to Dinosaur

If they do AE again, it should be at MGM in my opinion. I didn't think it belonged at MK even though I liked it.

I agree, AE was more Hollywoodish! It would seem to fit better at MGM! I am looking forward to seeing the stitch version though!

! I'm really getting sick of disney doing this though! Replacing great attractions with new ones! There are some things that you need to leave alone and AE was one of them. I really miss having a little scare when I go to the parks and I wish they would bring it back!
