Question Cab to the outlet mall...

Hi all!

We will be staying on site and will not have a car for the duration of our stay. I keep seeing posts extolling the virtue (and money saving) of the Disney stores at the outlet mall. I was just wondering if it would be worth it to take a cab to the outlet mall or if that would just eat up any savings that I might get by visiting the outlet mall altogether??

Does anyone know how much it would cost to take a cab from CSR to the Belz outlet mall? Would it be worth it??

Thanks!

Hmm, I can't give you an exact figure but that's quite a ride. Unless you had other shops you were planning on visiting out there or would make a day of it it may cut into the savings quite a bit unless you're a big time shopper. A closer and maybe cheaper alternative would be the Orlando Premium Outlets which are off property maybe a mile or two. They have pretty well the same shops and the Disney outlets are pretty comparable.

OK... Let's say that this is my best bet - as far as outlet shopping is concerned. Any idea on the cost to get there? Would it be better for me to take Disney transport to DTD and get a cab from there? Or should I just take it from my resort?

I apologize as I really don't know how much cabs cost. I'd say from DTD it's probably 2 to 3 miles and maybe 6 to 8 or so from CSR. If you were already at DTD it'd probably save you a few dollars and if you're looking for deals we always do pretty well at the Disney Character Premiere Outlet they have there. We were just there today and picked up some stuff. If you like shopping or want to pick up gifts I'd say it would probably be worth an afternoon visit and the cab fare.

We went to the character warehouse in Belz (now called prime outlets) in October. I was hoping to buy a discounted pal mickey, but there were none there. Actually I was quite disappointed with the 2 stores, as there was not much choice. Its not at all like being in the 'proper' Disney stores! They were mainly selling clothes, with just a few toys and collectibles, but we didn't buy anything. If you are not staying nearby, I would not bother going!

Thanks minnie2000! I am sure that we will be soooooooo busy that I won't even notice that I'm not going to the outlet mall! I'm sure that I will be able to sniff out any deals that are around at the parks or at the resorts!

I just can't wait to GO!!
