Contemporary roof only for California Grill Guests

As of Friday, October 4, the Contemporary Resort's 15th floor
Observation Deck is open for viewing fireworks ONLY to guests
dining at the California Grill, not the general public.

Official word is that this policy change has been implemented
because of capacity limits, and as a result of the many private
parties held at the California Grill.

An alternative fireworks viewing location has been set up on the
Contemporary's 4th floor, Grand Canyon Concourse. The spot is
located at the north end of the floor, past the Concourse
Sundries & Spirits shop. Exterior doors there lead to an area
with views of Cinderella Castle and the Magic Kingdom. Fantasy In
the Sky music synchronized with the fireworks show is piped in at
this location, which is partially sheltered in case of inclement
weather. The 4th floor location is open to all guests visiting
the Contemporary Resort.

Mickey RATS!

in the shellinger (did i spell it right?) unofficial guide, it specifically lists this as one of the best spots to view. i was going to try it since i have more time now that i live down here, even though i have known about it for years.

see what procrastination gets you.....

You could always eat at California Grill at that time or have a reserved party there then.

During one of my recent trips to WDW, I was able to see the "Magic in the Sky" from Ohana at the Poly. Though, the music isn't played through the restaurant, and anybody who has been to Ohana knows that it wouldn't make much difference because of the lively staff!

Note - I wouldn't take this advice too seriously and go to Ohana just to see the fireworks. I am saying that you COULD see them, but at times, it was a little difficult to spot them. One of the best places I heard to see them was from the Main Street U.S.A Station. SpectroMagic can be seen very clearly here, though, you may need to arrive there upwards of an hour early to get a good seat.

while i will say this isn't a bad location (The 4th Floor viewing deck) its not as good as the roof, one thing I have found is to go up the fire escape the 6th or 7th floor the reason being is you can still hear the music but you are now above the monorail (comes in on the 5th floor) so that won't block your view of the fireworks. yes thought this is one of the best places to view wishes.

The grill restaraunt, is it any good? Do you need reservations? I am going to WDW soon and I am just trying to take it all in.

It is considered one of the best restaurants at W D W from what I hear. You would need a Priority Seating especially around fireworks time.

That sounds very nice, but I am the kind of guy to watch it come up and then go to bed for the night, rather than get up at like 6:30am!!

Well, I live on the coast down here in Pompano beach, and the only thing that I don't like about the sunsets is that I can never see them set over the ocean. Now if Ilived on the other coast it would be a different story....

If i remember correctly from my last job they brought one up from there I wanna say it was the starts and stripes blimp. however I know they also had the spirit of goodyear there too. I can't remember wich one it is know. oh well another good view of a sunset from a blimp however it was a ohio sunset not a flordia sunset

Yes, the Goodyear blimp is stationed here. If you go to the beach on the weekends it is always flying up and down along the ocean. I have been to the hanger that they keep it in, it is a HUGE building! It is blue and white colored, but I am not sure of the exact name of the blimp.
