Exclamation Holiday festivities at the DISNEYLAND Resort

ANAHEIM, CA, Nov. 12 /CNW/ - The DISNEYLAND Resort is traditionally sprinkled with extra pixie dust during the holidays to become a winter wonderland, and this year is more magical than ever as the Resort transforms itself into "The Merriest Place on Earth" every day through Sunday, January 5, 2003. The diverse offerings at DISNEYLAND park and DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA
ADVENTURE(TM) park include the "Believe... In Holiday Magic" fireworks show with falling snow, the fun-filled "Haunted Mansion Holiday," the all-new "abug's land" for kids, "A Christmas Fantasy" parade, an amazing new stage musical inspired by Aladdin, and thousands of dazzling decorations and lights
Resort-wide.

Disney's California Adventure Park
----------------------------------
At DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE, once guests pass under sparkling lights and garland draping the Golden State Bridge, they are immersed in a joyful Yuletide atmosphere offering a host of festive sights and sounds. Hollywood Pictures Backlot is decked with holiday stars, garland and banners; Pacific Wharf is illuminated with Chinese lanterns, a dragon and canopy lights; and the San Francisco district is brightly festooned with Christmas wreaths, lights and a colorfully decorated tree.
Topping the park's lineup of fun is the new "a bug's land," featuring the "Flik's Fun Fair" area of all-new attractions designed especially for young kids. "Flik's Fun Fair" is one of three areas in "a bug's land," along with the existing "It's Tough to be a Bug!" show and the "Bountiful Valley Farm," with new bug-themed entertainment and landscaping. When it opened on October 7, 2002, "a bug's land" became the fourth land in DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA
ADVENTURE. Inspired by the Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios' film A Bug's Life, "a bug's land" lets kids experience a fun-filled world from a bug's point of view.
The ever-popular "Disney's Electrical Parade," a procession of nearly a half-million twinkling lights, is currently being presented Friday through Sunday evenings, and will become a nightly feature from Friday, December 20 through Sunday, January 5. The parade showcases more than 30 three-dimensional parade units depicting scenes from Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs and other classics. Some of the pageant's scenes tower as high as 23 feet and stretch as long as 108 feet. Among the favorites is the looming reptile figure of Elliot, from Pete's Dragon, who blows "smoke" from his nostrils.
Beginning Friday, November 22, the park's holiday entertainment will also include a new "Holiday Pep Band" performing high-energy renditions of the
season's songs throughout the park, and an ice rink in the Golden State Amphitheater where the Disney characters will skate and greet their fans. Also
adding to the fun will be holiday-themed sand sculptures in Sun Plaza, and strolling performances by The Mistletones, an a cappella quartet singing holiday tunes to the accompaniment of ringing handbells.
New this year is "Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular," a Broadway- caliber stage musical based on the popular Walt Disney Pictures animated film, which will premiere Monday, December 9 at the Hyperion Theatre. The show will
be a spectacular entertainment experience that tells the story of Aladdin and his adventures involving the beautiful Princess Jasmine; her father the Sultan; the evil Jafar; and of course, Aladdin's witty and comical wish-granting Genie.
Showcasing larger-than-life scenes and amazing stage effects, the production features songs from the unforgettable film score composed by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. "Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular" will be presented four times per day and will be free with park admission.

Disneyland Park
---------------

The amazing "Believe... In Holiday Magic" show at DISNEYLAND is a special Yuletide version of the park's popular fireworks presentation, and is being performed nightly during the holiday season. The biggest fireworks show ever presented at DISNEYLAND Resort, this aerial production combines an enchanting holiday story and music with a shimmering array of pyrotechnics. In the show's wintry finale, snowflakes actually fall upon guests along Main Street, U.S.A., Small World Mall and New Orleans Square.
The hit of last year's season, "Haunted Mansion Holiday" has returned with new surprises for a fun-filled celebration where Halloween and Christmas collide. The ghoulish but well-meaning Jack Skellington from the film Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas has come to the "Haunted Mansion" attraction to transform it with his skewed vision of the holidays. New this
year, guests can join in singing 13 "Christmas Scarols" that play in the attraction's queue. At the boarding area for the "Doom Buggies," newly added is a display of 13 giant packages holding special treats, with one package opened each week for 13 weeks to reveal one of Skellington's friends. Inside
the attraction, guests will hear a wacky new musical soundtrack by composer Danny Elfin, who also wrote the music for Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas.
The classic "it's a small world" attraction has again become "it's a small world" Holiday with an enchanting Christmas atmosphere that creates a different way to experience this favorite. Guests discover scenes that feature the holiday decorations of each international region, special effects and more than 300 animated "Children of the World" singing "Jingle Bells" and "Deck the Halls" in counterpoint to the "it's a small world" theme. Outside, more than 300,000 glittery lights decorate the attraction to create a sparkling nighttime wonderland.
Also bringing sleigh-loads of holiday cheer are the "Minnie's Christmas Story" stage show at the Fantasyland Theatre, a New Orleans Square southern holiday celebration, rustic Christmas decorations in Frontierland, a beautifully decked Sleeping Beauty Castle and a colourful 60-foot-tall Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A.
A traditional DISNEYLAND holiday pageant is "A Christmas Fantasy" parade, which will be performed daily from Friday, November 22, through Sunday, January 5, along Main Street, U.S.A. The wondrous holiday procession depicts a
magical array of colourful scenes, music and a cast of Disney characters and performers. Disney characters play in Dickens-inspired scenes, friendly snowmen dance, toy soldiers march in step and Santa Claus waves from his sleigh as goofy reindeer prance along the parade route.
On New Year's Eve, December 31, DISNEYLAND will extend its operating hours and present a special midnight fireworks spectacular above Sleeping Beauty Castle to ring in the New Year.

Disneyland Resort Hotels and Downtown Disney District
--------------------------------------------------------

The Resort's three hotels and DOWNTOWN DISNEY will also join in the Christmas spirit with twinkling lights, colourful décor, special entertainment and a host of holiday dining experiences throughout the season. One of the most popular dining features is "Goofy's Holiday Feast," a festive buffet with
the Disney characters offered daily during the season at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel.

I saw on another site a picture of a sign for a Holiday Tour at the park. Do you know anything about that?

:mEars: No I haven't heard anything. Where did you see it? I am taking the extended Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour tomorrow. That is the only new one I am aware of. I will ask tomorrow to see if I can find out anything. :mEars:
