Space Mountain:
2005 - Rumor - (11/20/02) We’ve heard a bit more info on a possible update to Space Mountain being considered. We’re returning once again to the rumors of gutting the existing ride and replacing it with a whole new thrill ride... possibly one with inversions that be themed more like the one in Paris. The funny part is that the timing would be just right to gut DL’s Space Mountain and send the pieces to Hong Kong to reuse for their “new” version. Not that anyone has said such a thing to me... it’s a thought though. Anyway... the interesting part of this rumor is it would move the queue to the CircleVision/Rocket Rods building, and use the underground queue to the old Rocket Rods Tower to load the train. From there it would use the old Rocket Rod bridgework once again to send the train down Tomorrowland and into Star Tours before it would hit the launch track area (inside the long empty top floor of the Starcade) and launch the coasters right into the Space Mountain dome at full speed. You would return on a new bit of track that came out of the mountain and went straight back to the CircleVision building. Sounds wild...but almost too wild to be true for Disney to attempt. Plus there would be quite a few logistical nightmares to deal with as well.
DCA night time show:
2006 - Odyssey... The Lagoon Show - Rumor - (11/20/02) It seems that 2004 is a little soon to add a big nighttime spectacular to DCA for Disney. Tower will have to bring the crowds on it’s own, and they don’t want a big DCA show in 2005 to work against what they are preparing for DL the same year, so it looks like 2006 will be the right time to give DCA the nighttime show it’s been missing since opening day. From what we understand, the concet right now is to give it a Little Mermaid style storyline and they’ve hired a few people who worked on the big water fountain show at Belagio (Las Vegas) to develop this new show that will rely more heavily on water, lights and effects... and less on pyro.
DCA Park News:
Park News - (11/20/02) The word from our insiders is that Aladdin is expected to soft open to guests on November 25th with Cast Previews set for the 26th, 30th, and Dec 2nd. What’s up with Superstar Limo? We know they closed it, but apparently no one has any clue about when it might reopen at all right now. What’s new for Christmas in DCA? Seems they will build giant sand castles and install a small ice rink for characters to skate on.
DL Park News:
Park News - (11/20/02) Missing Fantasmic? Seems you’ll have to wait until next Summer to see Fantasmic again if the latest rumor is correct, unless they change their minds and open it early for Spring Break when they open Pooh.
(11/15/02) The rumor going around is that the Matterhorn, which was supposed to reopen in a few weeks for the busy Holiday Season, will remain closed until sometime in early 2003 while they continue the extensive rehab of the mountain. I haven’t been able to confirm it myself on the park’s website (down for updating), but it seems the rehab schedule has been updated through at least January to list Matterhorn as closed.
(11/13/02) Screamscape has been informed that GM will drop their current sponsorship of Innoventions as of Jan. 1st, 2003. We have been informed that this will have no impact on their long-term sponsorship of Epcot’s Test Track.

WOW great info. I have heard these rumors before & hopefully they re true. As for super star limo, I have NO clue whats going on, all I cantget out of the cast members are, "That rides cosed?", "I don't know whats happeing", "I think it has to do something wih Goofy". I bet even the Imangeeners don't even know what they are going to do!

I know Cast Member Previews ran on the 26th thru the 28th. I don't think on the 30th and 2nd though. I almost went, but had to go back to Screamin' - lol.

Is this saying that the the Rocket Rod/People mover thrack will become part ofSpace Mountain? I am thinking this because earlier today I was reading an Interview with an Imagineer about Buzz and Space Mountain and he said " The Rocket Rods Track remains unused, but not for long. . . . ". It was something like that.
