Re: The Simpsons Ride

Yes it is open and I've heard it's really funny, even the wait queue is funny. The ride uses the same mechanism as Back to the Future but I've heard the seats are more confortable.

Re: The Simpsons Ride

I've been wanting to head over there and check it out. However I have not yet. I have heard some good reviews of it though.

Re: The Simpsons Ride

There's a POV video in Youtube. It looks really funny. I can't wait 'til I get there in November to try it myself.

Re: The Simpsons Ride

It's a very neat ride, the queue is well done and the preshow has quite a few laughs in it (as well as some Back to the Future in jokes). It's a nice update to the attraction although I still miss BTTF.

Re: The Simpsons Ride

I have been on it! It's a motion simulator just like BTTF, but it's funny! Cool ride.

Re: The Simpsons Ride

We went on this last week and absolutely hated it! The queue was fun, lots of simpsons cartoons and the pre show was great. The seating on the actual ride was OK, the lapbar was one where it fits you all at the same time and I felt like I could have done with the bar being down further.

But the actual ride was way too intense for me, there were 8 people in the car including us, and when the ride was over, four got off (including me) saying they hated it and wouldn't ride again! To be honest, it was the people over 25 who hated it, the kids on the ride loved it!

I'm glad I tried the ride, but it isn't one I want to do again!

Re: The Simpsons Ride

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is intense. I would say that it is far too fast paced and the simulated motion is a little to jerky. I would have expected it to be somewhat smoother considering all the investment

Re: The Simpsons Ride

I found the old Back to the Future ride too jerky - I wonder if they are still using the same old simulators?

I'll try the ride once but I'm losing interest in sim rides now.

Star Tours is the only one we do - and even then, only if there are no lines.

Re: The Simpsons Ride

Winkster, it certainly felt like it could have the old simulator, we only ever did the back to the future ride once as it was too bumpy for us!

Re: The Simpsons Ride

Like most people have said, I found it a lot like the old Back to the Future ride, which wasn't to my liking. The que for the ride was funny though, especially the comment Homer makes about the que time
