Transportation to Universal

I am looking for a cheap and easy way to get to Universal from our resort, Port Orleans Riverside...
Anyone know how much the taxis charge ... or any info would be helpful

I'm afraid I can't help on taxi charges but I beleive there is a bus that goes from the TTC to I-Drive (Lynx or Mears rings a bell). I'm sure one of our members will be able to tell us if it goes to Universal.

I guess even if it doesn't go to Universal, you could always get the I-Drive trolley from the bus stop to Universal.

Do remember to check our rental car prices too - you may be surprised (just remember it costs about $7 to park at Universal though).

Disney don't rent the cars themselves but you can rent a car on WDW property.

Alamo are the official car rental company of WDW. There's one at the Car Care Center near the MK exit.

There was a Dollar (boooo!) at the Regal Sun Resort on Hotel Plaza Boulevard although I'm not sure if it's still there now. It was very easily accessible from DTD - you just walked out onto Hotel Plaza Blvd and it was the first (maybe second?) hotel you came to.

In '08. we took a cab from Universal to WDW. It costed us $30.00

ok, thank you very much for your help everyone!!!! i will definitely check out our different options ... i had no idea there were car rental locations on WDW property ... this may be helpful.. we shall see!

There is 8 of us and I just made reservations with Mears. They pick us up at the campground, at a time that you want, and drive us to IOA, then pick us up at a set time to go back to the campground. It cost $100 round trip, renting a car was more money $150 plus from the rental car that are in Disney for a day and then the times were not convenant to pick up the car or drop off. So try Mears they were very friendly to work with.
