Re: Universal City Walk
City walk is like DTD, only not as big. They have concerts outside during the evenings. The HArd Rock is very cool. You can just walk in and tour. The restaurants are quite good. We had purchased the Meal Deal for one of our days at the parks. For an additional $5, we were allowed to select almost any restaurant in CityWalk to visit for dinner. We chose LAtin Quarter. The meal, ambiance and entertainment was worth more than the entire meal deal and $5 combined.

For me, City Walk is what Pleasure Island wants to be.
Nothing for me will beat DTD (I just live the Marketplace) but City Walk has a more adult feel and there's generally always a good, fun atmosphere there.
Oh - and there's no cover charge and there's also free evening parking.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away!

Re: Universal City Walk
Actually, it is almost what PLeasure Island used to be. We went to PI when it first opened. There was a $20 cover charge. It was adults only, but it was great. There were so many types of clubs. Each one was great in it's own way. There was live entertainment out in the street (name bands) andevery night at 11:00 pm was New Years Eve. There were dancers, music, fireworks, confetti and so much more.

Re: Universal City Walk
Citywalk is a large entertainment area that has shopping and restaurants. There are some restaurants that turn into somethink like a "nightclub" after a certain time.
Street entertainment and shopping do not require an admission charge. Some clubs and bars do require a cover charge and have age restrictions at night.
We have gone with our kids every trip and we love Citywalk!! We had a great time at Pat O'Brien's one year. We went for dinner, then the dueling pianos started playing. They were playing songs that our kids requested. The kids had just as much fun as we did! We left about 9 PM- it started to get more of a club feel so we thought it was best to get out of there with the kids.

Re: Universal City Walk
I went ahead and moved this thread to the Universal section so it could get some more attention (maybe from the Universal folks who know more than I lol).
To be honest we never seem to go to Citywalk all that often, mostly b/c they charged for parking up until fairly recently. We may have to give it another try though.
Go Noles!

Re: Universal City Walk
We went to CityWalk and sat and drank Margaritas at Margaritaville one time. It was fun!
We took a picture in front of the iconic Universal Globe too and did a little shopping.

My husband and I went in 2010 for our Honeymoon. We ended up purchasing $18 or $21 (can't remember exactly) per person deal to go in and out of all the clubs. There was also a dining option as well if u wanted to add it. The parking admission dropped to like $8-$10 after a certain time, and was free after 10pm I believe. We had a blast.
Sorry I forgot, like someone else mentioned there's no cover charge to walk CW only to enter the clubs. You still have other areas open like the movie theatre and the eateries.
