True. I guess the only thing keeping me from doing this is that the CM will assign us a room when we get there and I can haggle with her/him over the location before she/he inputs it. With this system the computer randomly gives you a room.
But as you said, we need to wait for some reviews of the service. I would be thrilled to know if the CM at the station can make room changes and just how difficult this would be.
goofydad, Im like you I like specific areas. I just dont like standing behind people who have a looooonnnnggg list of questions that takes mostly common sense to know the answers.

No kidding. LOL I like to tell the people that have a laundry list of common sense questions to "just get back on the plane and go home because you'll never make it a week away from home with that intelligence level". But luckily I've just arrived at Disney World so my mood hasn't been soured by the fact that I am about to return home yet. LOL
These people always have the same questions...
"Can we leave our luggage here and have it sent to the room?" _--Ummmm did you not see the bell services CM's taking 2 other families luggage on your way in?!?
"When will our room be ready?" -- What hotel have you ever stayed at where the check in time is earlier than 3pm?? Your room will be ready by 3PM!
"Will this little blue card get us into the room? How about into the pool?" --Yes, when was the last time you used a "KEY" in a hotel door? And No, your hand and a forward pushing motion will get you to the pool since it is outside!!
I could go on all night with stupid questions I've overheard in the short 3 trips we have taken.
I would imagine that the resorts have a "scream room" for the CM's to go into and just let one fly every ten minutes. Maybe that's why I see them disappearing and reappearing so often. LOL
My favorite was a couple years ago. The people in front of us were arguing with the CM about getting into the park even though their room was not ready.
Kid you not. The CM told them 4 times that they can yes use their cards and go grab a bite to eat, and probably about 6 times that yes they can go to the parks. Just their room was not ready.
30 minutes later they finally understood. And it was not a lanquage barrier thing.
We could start another thread along this line. Just keep it clean and humorous.

Has anyone used this yet? From what I have read (more has popped onto the net since this thread began) it seems like you can use the Online Check-In Service then simply go to a counter and pick up all of your "check-in items" there an a CM will be there to assign your room number then as well as to help correct any errors or make changes if you need them. More or less it seems that it just speeds up the check in process.
We didn't use it on our last trip, however, we didn't need to. When we arrived at our resort (YC) we were standing in the loby trying to figure out what line to get into to check-in, and a CM walked up to us and greeted us by our last name took us to her counter, gave Kylie a Birthday button, checked our credit card info and gave us our room. It only took about 5 minutes! I can't see how on-line check-in could possibly be quicker!

We used it in May. It was simple and quick. Not that it was any shorter than it normally is at least for us. The hubby is talking about using it again in March.
