Mobile Room Ready Notification Service

I was wondering when they'd get this into the mix. How many of you get to Disney early and after checking in have to call the resort once, twice or more to see if your room is ready? Not anymore. Mobile Room Ready Notification allows a guest to receive either a text message (standard carrier rates will apply of course) or an automated phone call when their room is ready. During your check in you can give the CM a mobile number for them to enter into the system and let them know your preference, text/automated phone call. When the room is ready the room number will be sent via text/call.

How cool is this? Now I won't blow the front desk phone up calling to see if the room is ready early. (Is that too nuerotic? LOL

Re: Mobile Room Ready Notification Service

Great idea and an excellent new aspect of Disney's service - although if you've made it to a park, why rush back to your room?

By the way GD, I love the new avatar!

Re: Mobile Room Ready Notification Service

A lot of people arrive early in the morning then about mid-day they take a break and go back to their resort (definitely NOT us)and swim and nap. Then they go back into the parks. I guess I'll never understand that. That wastes so much time. Our son took his naps in our stroller and would have been ticked, even at 2, to find himself back in the room. LOL But hey, que sera sera.

As for us, we always land in Florida somewhere between 10am and Noon. By the time we get to the resort and check in we don't want to waste a park ticket on a partial day so we traditionally hit Downtown Disney and shop till we drop. As soon as our room is ready we like to go straight there and get freshened up after the plane flight and all the walking we have done at that point.

Oh, and thanks about the avatar. I change it too often I think. I used to change it according to the next holiday coming up.

Btw, you Brits call a vacation a holiday. So what do you call a "holiday"?

Ah - that makes sense! I guess we get too used to arriving in the late afternoon.

We call it a bank holiday. Don't ask why - I have no clue! Sure, the banks close but back then, so did all the shops too.
