Mousekeeping tips

Has anyone else ever had trouble using the Mousekeeping envelopes? I always design my own and put the money in them and leave it on the table under the blue room info card (this is a little tiny triangular Disney sign) like I am supposed to so that they know that the money sitting there is for them. However, the last trip we took, for the first 3 days the money was still there when we got back that night. So I started leaving it outside of the envelope but still under the blue room info card and they started getting it.

Is taking money in envelopes something that they are told not to do? It is always very clearly marked that it is for them. If so then I will just start putting the money there out of the envelopes.

Re: Mousekeeping tips

Odd, I have always used an envelope and they have aways taken it.
Perhaps it was just something they missed.

Re: Mousekeeping tips

This past trip I left a plain white envelope each day marked "housekeeping" and left it either on top of the dresser or on the little table by the door. It was always gone when we returned.

Okay. Thats good. I just want to make sure they get the tip I leave for them. Maybe it was just an oddity on the last trip. Thanks

Re: Mousekeeping tips

We're never organised enough to take envelopes so I always end up leaving the tips on the pillow.

They seem to get the message!

Re: Mousekeeping tips

We always leave a our tip in an envelope that says "Thank you MouseKeeping" on it. Did not seem to have a problem...

Re: Mousekeeping tips

Well maybe it was just a one time (or 3 days) thing and this time they will get the tip. I just hate the idea of them not getting the tip they deserve.

Re: Mousekeeping tips

Simple answer GD. Stay at POR - the mousekeepers there often only do half a job there so you won't feel guilty if they don't take the tip!!

Re: Mousekeeping tips

We always make envelopes that say Thank You Mousekeeping and have a dollar store picture easel we put the envelope on, placing that on top of the TV cabinet. Always gone when we return.

A very nice idea! I have to go get one now. But I always heard that you had to place it under the small blue triangular room information card or Mousekeeping was forbidden by management from taking it.

Re: Mousekeeping tips

I've never heard about the room information card thing. I'd imagine if that were the case, it would say so in the room somewhere surely?

I have never heard of that either.
We usually place the tip in a envelope on the table and address it to housekeeping. Never failed to have it taken.

Re: Mousekeeping tips

I dug through some of my older souvenirs and found one of the cards. Though it doesn't say anything about putting the tip under it. Hmmm. Maybe I saw that on a forum somewhere...

Re: Mousekeeping tips

The only rule I have ever heard about that the tip MUST be clearly marked for Mousekeeping, otherwise they are not to touch a single penny in the room.

My kids or hubby have left change in the room and we have always come back with the change where he left it and of course the tip envelope gone. I have never thought about the card thing, I just wanted to make sure the envelope was in plain sight, hence the easel thing.
