Re: Resort Hop?
You can resort hop easily.
Your Key to the Kingdom will open the security gates at every resort and if not, just tell the guard you are visiting and are staying at another WDW resort.
Just remember to put your parking permit on the dashboard.
We resort hop all the time!
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away!

Re: Resort Hop?
The Key to the Kingdom is a huge benefit, for me.
I love the fact that one card is pretty much all I need on the park (though, for purchases, Cast Members are supposed to ask you for Photo ID, but they rarely do).
I love the fact that I can link my credit card to my room, so if I ever happen to lose my key to the kingdom card, it's ok. A quick call to the hotel front desk, or a visit to guest services, and the "key" is shut off, and they'll issue me a new one at the resort.
This way, I never have to try and hassle with a credit card company to send me a new card overnight or something. No worries at all.
I just carry some extra cash at the park just in case, and leave my cards locked up in the hotel room safe.

Re: Resort Hop?
Resort Hopping is fun! It lets you experience resorts that you've never stayed at and see their restaurants and shops and beautiful lobbies and landscaping
Easy to do with your resort key, by bus, by monorail, or boat

Re: Resort Hop?
I've never been asked to show a card when going to the resorts by monorail, boat, or bus. There are ways to access several parks without using your car. You can walk to the BoardWalk, Beach Club, and Yacht Club from Epcot. You can go to Grand Floridian, Poly, and Contemporary on the monorail from the TTC and MK. And you can take the boat to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. We visit resorts all the time and have never been carded.

Re: Resort Hop?
You are allowed to Resort Hop even if you are not staying on property. If you are driving just tell the security guard you are going to walk around and shop/eat.
However it is extremely frowned upon to park at one of the resorts and then use the free transportation to go to one of the parks.
Some of the resorts do charge parking such as the Swan and Dolphin.
- It's frowned upon if your not staying on Disney property and unless your visiting guests or eating at a restaurant at another resort i don't see the point of trying to park at another resort with the Disney free transportation.

- The only time you will need a card at other resorts is to access the pool area like at aoa. They require key access to the pool. Other than that it's just like you said, for now you will never be carded for resort hopping.

Yacht & Beach Club pool is another you must have a resort card for. I have never heard of anyone being "turned away" for just wandering and checking out other resorts (not using pool).

I don't want to swim, I just want to tour the facilities.

Disney encourages "checking out" other resorts. If you drive just stop at security and let them know you are looking around. They will direct you to were you can park. If you are on Disney transportation just hope off and enjoy! This is a great way to see which resort you want to try next! Especially cool at Christmas time!!
