Our whole family is traveling to WDW for Thanksgiving this year. 20 of us total ranging in age 57 to a year old. This is our first for that time of year. Time to make dining reservations is quickly approaching and I'm having trouble deciding where to go for Thanksgiving dinner. We do want a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but don't really want to do Liberty Tree. Any suggustions would be greatly appreciated.
What resort are you staying at? I've heard that some of the restaurants in the resorts will offer traditional Thanksgiving food. I think I specifically heard that Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge was very good for Thanksgiving!
We will be in Disney the Sunday after Thanksgiving, maybe we will cross paths!

Trails End is a buffet, I'm not sure if they will add Thanksgiving food. They usually have ribs and fried chicken, food that is similar to the Hoop Dee Doo.
Whispering Canyon has the all you can eat skillet, I think I did hear that they may add Thanksgiving food but I'm not positive. This restaurant can get very noisy, it would be a fun place to eat as long as everyone is willing to play along.
O'hanas might be fun, you should look into it!
All ears had a page on their site that listed places that did Thanksgiving Dinner.

We are staying at the Polynesian. Anyone hear good or bad about Whispering Canyon Cafe or Trail's End Resturant??
I have eaten at both.
Whispering Canyon is a great place for kids. Be prepared for a lot of noise. I have dined there 3 times, first two were OK last time was terrible. Food was bad , service was terrible, and I had to complain to the manager . That was two years ago.
Trail's End is a great spot that is overlooked by many. It is all a buffet. I think it is the best deal for a all you can eat breakfast. Because it is next to the Hoop De View Review, the buffet for dinner is the same as the show.
If you are not staying at the campgrounds it is a bit hard to get to.. Minimum 3 buses to get there. Even if you drive you still need to take a bus from the campground to Trails end. If you are staying at the campgrounds it is an easy trip.

Thanks!! I have looked at All Ears but they don't have a updated Thanksgiving menu. I think it was from 2007 or so. I think we will not be doing Whispering Canyon cause we have some family members who don't like the loudness! I guess we need to decide if we want buffet or to order off a menu.

We are heading down for Thanksgiving as well (11 total). I (being the Disney fan of the family) suggested Liberty Tree Tavern, but the person who is in charge of the bookings is dealing w/ AAA. (boo) The agent there said we will be charged 2 sitdown meals for Thanksgiving? We've (my family) been during Thanksgiving before, ate at Rose and Crowne and was NOT charged two. Thoughts??
That doesn't sound right to me, why don't you call Disney directly and find out for sure! You could always make the ADR in your name if the AAA agent is unwilling.

Called Disney last night and the agent on the line said she never heard such a thing either. She couldn't do anything since we are more than our 180 days out, but she was pretty surprised to hear me ask!! Stupid, AAA. So I am pretty sure it will only be the norm and one table service used!
Just got off AGAIN w/ Disney to check availibility for this summer.....I couldn't resist when I opened my email and had a pin code for 40% off! Looks like we may head down in July or August (ugh, I know..I know) and stay on Disney property but enjoy "other activities" the area has to offer, as well as staying at the Wilderness Lodge and hang out in the pool and just relax....besides I will be back down to enjoy the parks in November
Woo-hoo!!

My daughter and I live ten minutes from Downtown Disney. We have our Thanksgiving dinner every year at Portobello at Downtown Disney. They offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal. It is a set price for the meal, but you get a choice of an appetizer and desert. If I remember correctly, the price per person was $38.
Last year, I had an appetizer of a sweet potato bisque. The entree consisted of turkey, dressing, mashed potatos and gravy, cranberry sauce and green beans. For desert, I had pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
It was fantastic. While the restaurant is busy, we've never had a problem getting in during the afternoon.
