I'm wondering about how long table service restaurants usually take from "door to door". We are leaving in a couple of days and are trying to do a little bit of planning on either side of our ADRs. The ones I am most wondering about are our two EPCOT reservations at Coral Reef and at The Biergarten. If we have reservations around 7:00ish, what time should we anticipate leaving the restaurant?

Sometimes you can get lucky and get there in a brief amount of time, however to be sure I would allow an hour to an hour and a half. You may have to take more than one bus and this will assure you getting there. (Waiting for bus time+waiting for second bus+walking to your ADR)

I'm not sure Taminy is talking about travel time to the restaurant.

I read it as a question about the time the actual meal takes - forgive me if I'm hopelessly wrong (it happens a lot!).

If that's the case - and I hate to sound obvious here - it very much depends on where you eat, how many staff they have and how efficient they are, what you eat and of course, how quickly you eat. And I guess all that lot will vary from one night to the next and from one restaurant to the next.

I've never eaten at the restaurants in question but we can happily spend a good couple of hours in a restaurant - often more.

I do remember one time in Brown Derby though where the service was so quick the food was almost thrown at us! Our appetizer arrived before the drinks - and the drinks were certainly not slow in arriving! The entrees then appeared before we'd even finished our last mouthful of appetizer - not a relaxing meal at all.

Compare that to Kona Cafe where our waitress moved at the pace of an arthritic snail!

We usually like to chill out and take our time over a meal although if you are in a rush, I'm sure your waiter or waitress will do all they can to hurry things along for you.

What are you hoping to do after your meals Taminy? Are you staying in Epcot of going elsewhere?

We've only been to Coral Reef, and plan on going again! It's one of our favorites!!

We arrived for our ADR about 10 minutes early and were seated next to the tank in about 5 minutes. I would guess that the entire experience took between an hour and an hour and a half. However, it is such a cool place to dine I don't think you should rush.

Also I think that the time of year and the time of your reservation will make an impact on the total time. We were there in Nov. 2009, and our ADR was for 5:15, so maybe thats why we didn't have to wait. This year we will also go in Nov. however our ADR time is much later (8:00), we will see if this makes a difference.
