My family does not like Crystal Palace or Hollywood and Vine. We gave them both two tries, and sorry they were not better the second time!! The food is horrible at both!! The character experience at Crystal Palace was horrible both times too!! We were skipped by characters and had to ask server to see them. They acted like we asked for something horrible. We felt rushed! We have never experienced anything that bad at any other character meal!!

That is SO SURPRISING! I seriously never have a bad time at crystal palace I love it sooo much! I didn't really like hollywood and vine the only reason it was ok was because we were all starving and so thirsty! But yeah crystal palace is seriously the best thing at Disney world for me and my family!

Re: What resturants at WDW would you not dine at ?
I'd never eat at a 2 credit restaurant. I just can't justify spending so much money on food.

Re: What resturants at WDW would you not dine at ?
I can understand that completely - however...
Do you go offsite at all to places like Universal or Sea World?
If so, you may find yourself with an extra credit if you eat outside of WDW on that day.
When we visit a non-Disney park, we'll use the QS credit we save (by buying at lunch the non-Disney park) to buy dinner back at WDW. There's plenty of great QS spots around that can provide a perfect alternative to a TS meal for dinner - especially outdoor places around Epcot's World Showcase where we prefer to eat QS and soak up the atmosphere, the views and the sunshine.
Suddenly, by doing that, you find yourself with a spare TS credit that can be used to dine at a signature restaurant.
I'm defintely NOT a fan of most standard Disney restaurants. Many serve very average food. I am however a huge fan of many (but not all) of the signature dining spots and think it's well worth the extra expense to try them, even if it's just a one-off to treat yourself.
The difference between standard and signature dining at WDW really can be like chalk and cheese!
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away!

Re: What resturants at WDW would you not dine at ?
I go to other parks and usually use my TS credits at DTD restaurants in the evening, as we go in September Univeral and IOA etc close early so we can use TS credits in the evening. We usually end up with extra CS credits that we use for breakfast items sometimes.
I would go to a Signature restaurant for something like an anniversary, but not for a regular meal - that's just me. I like the Disney "regular" food just fine.

Re: What resturants at WDW would you not dine at ?
This might be a little off topic, but... I seriously doubt that I'll ever get the Disney Dining Plan.
The added cost is more than what I typically spend on food during my trips, so it's not worth buying at full price.
During promotional periods, the DDP is often free. Whoppie - except that, to qualify for the free DDP, you must pay full, undiscounted rack rate for your room and ticket package.
So, unless I got a steeply discounted package of some kind that included the DDP, I'll be paying out of pocket for my food for the foreseeable future.

50's Sci Fi. For the price, the food was so so at best. Tried it a couple of times to be fair, with the same opinion each time.

We will not go back to Tony's. It was so loud and the food was not very good. My husband didn't even finish his steak and that never happens.
-
I will not dine at Fulton's Crab House! The wait was long, they did not except the Disney dining plan and the food was horrible. Everything was served A la carte and was way to over priced. I ordered a steak and potato and when the dish was placed In front of me, the aroma was unbearable. I refused to complain and paid for a meal that was less then Satisfactory. We then left and ordered a Big Mac and McNuggets from McDonalds in downtown Disney!

Re: What resturants at WDW would you not dine at ?
There's a McDonalds in Downtown Disney? Where? I need to know so I can steer my kid away from it!
A restaurant I have no interest at eating at again is 50's Prime Time Cafe. While the food is ok, I really don't like the "shtick"...the servers try so hard to act their role that they just come off annoying.
I don't feel like I'm being served, I feel like I'm being harassed.
