pecos bills
Can anyone tell me what their experience was at pecos bills? I have never been and I have been curious. I read reviews which most people seem to like it and the menu sounds good and looks good too. What do you guys have to say...good or bad? Is it worth trying?

Re: pecos bills
OMG, wait till Winkster sees this question! Watch out!
I've eaten there once and threw away my food. I ordered a taco salad (a fried tortilla filled with dog food). My DH thought his hamburger was okay, nothing special. We won't be going back.
I was there during MVMCP at the end of the night, so it was very empty, which was nice.

Ok I think I'm in the minority here but I like Pecos Bill. We eat there every trip and the topping bar is nice to have. It does tend to get super busy and last time we ate there we had a hard time finding a table even though the restaurant is huge. The taco salad is like the one you get at Tortuga Tavern and is just ground beef in a taco salad bowl and you can add the extras which I like because I like being able to add the amount of lettuce I want.

Re: pecos bills
Ok thanks guys! Sounds like mixed reviews. I guess the only way to find out is to try it for myself! Thanks again!

Lol, or Winkster was there on a bad, bad day, or we were there on a good day

I liked it, we had the Taco salad and made it yummie with the extra's on the saladbar.
Don't go on peak hours, I think It's not a good place to be.
But I won't go specially for Pecos Bill, the only QS place in MK I specially go to is Columbia Harbour House, best QS in MK with a lot of choice
Looking forward to our Disney vacations

Re: pecos bills
I guess I was there on a bad day, too, when they ran out of beef and used dog food.
LOL
I thought the salad bar was really lacking in terms of a taco salad. I don't even like the idea of using a salad bar for a taco salad. It should be made in the kitchen. Lettuce on the bottom, then ground beef with Mexican spices, tomatoes, avocado or guacamole, grated cheddar, black olives, jalapeños, black beans, spicy salsa, and a dollop of sour cream in a crisp tortilla bowl. Now that's a taco salad!
Absolutely! I don't see a need to go to any other QS when I'm at MK unless it's after hours and it's closed.

Lol, we first didn't see the saladbar, so when we got our plates with just the beef inside we looked confused from the picture from the Taco salad to our plate, the CM saw our confusion and pointed to the salad bar

Re: pecos bills
This really sounds like a bad restaurant. The last I ate there was in the early 90s, and it was fine.
If you bought a Taco Salad, and need clarifacation on how to use it...bad sign of the quality of service to expect. And the quality of service reflects on the kitchen, more often then not.
I know several users hate it, but I thought about giving it a try. Based on this thread, I won't even go there, it's a waste of a dining credit.

Re: pecos bills
When they handed me the bowl of Mighty Dog my first reaction was "what the #$%& is this?" I think the kitchen crew needs clarification on what a taco salad is supposed to be!
Definitely a waste of dining credits. Stick to Columbia Harbour House.
Sleepy Hollow has yummy-looking waffle sandwiches. I haven't tried one yet, but probably will on one of my upcoming trips.

We eat there and it's nothing grand but never really had any issues. Yes, the burger has been dry and yes the food hasn't been excellent but when I am in that corner of the park and we are hungry we go. We went on one of our last trips and I had the chilled grilled chicken wrap and it was okay. It was a lil too chilled
and hubby did say his food was just okay.
I guess It also has to do if you like adding stuff to your meal. My hubby stacks his burgers etc sky high and I love the cheese sauce at the condiment island.
