Re: Better rainforest cafe
Have you considered T-Rex?
Same owners but better food and service.
(sorry - I'm not a Rainforest fan at all!).

I second the T-Rex, brilliant restaurant with some fantastic ribs. Granted its a themed restaurant so the service and food will be as expected for these type of restaurants but to combine nice food with dinosaurs to keep the little ones happy its an excellent choice.

I agree about T Rex. It's better in every way.

T-Rex for sure...I'm not a fan of Rainforest either especially when my last experience was not good in any way.

Re: Better rainforest cafe
I like the Rainforest downtown better than the AK one but I've heard T-Rex is more delicious from a friend so I'll take everyone's word for it!

Just back from our trip. Ate in TRex last Wednesday. Mediocre food, small portiions and absolutely execrable service!

Re: Better rainforest cafe
Really?
Our portions were huge.
Granted, the food wasn't amazing but a) it's Disney and b) it's Landry's so I wasn't expecting fine dining - or anything close to it.
As for service, we ate at the bar so the barman was there all the time. The service was really excellent because of it.
Sorry you had such a bad experience! (but kudos for use of the word "execrable" on the boards - lol!).

- My wife and one of my daughters and I all had the rotisserie half chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. We're Irish and are accustomed to much smaller portions than is the norm in the US, but even by our standards it was more like a half poussin than half a chicken. I agree that one doesn't expect fine dining, but it really wasn't great. We ate in Rainforest at AK a few days earlier and had a very enjoyable meal. Perhaps it was just an off day but we wouldn't be inclined to eat there again

Our waitress at the Animal Kingdom was extremely rude.

Re: Better rainforest cafe
Downtown Rainforest is better but have to say not a fan of Rainforest and reckon it's the best of a bad bunch. We ate at Rainforest in Animal Kingdom in 2009 and my food was inedible. The waiter only visited our table once (so only one refill) and it was a nightmare trying to attract his attention. Will never go there again!
We ate at T-Rex about 10 days ago for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The portion sizes we had were far bigger than we are used to in Scotland and the food was pretty good. Our waitress was very attentive and really cheery. I'd suggest avoid Rainforest and visit T-Rex instead.

It's not just the entertainment that's high quality at Storyteller's Café.
