Most expensive meals in WDW
The Disney Food Blog decided to figure out the most expensive meals you can get at WDW, not counting Victoria & Albert's:

Re: Most expensive meals in WDW
Great post Alice - a really good read.
Looking at the dishes, I've eaten the...
Braised veal shank (Citricos)
Wild boar tenderloin (Jiko) - AMAZING!!!
Artisanal cheese selection (Jiko)
Braised short ribs (Jiko) - Yum!
Buffalo striploin steak (Artist Point)
All were well worth it (especially the Jiko wild boar tenderloin!) and a great example of why I think signature dining is wayyyy better than standard dining and well worth the additional cost.
There's food - and there's food. This is FOOD!

Re: Most expensive meals in WDW
Thanks, Winkster!
The meal that most appeals to me is Narcoossee's. Most of the others have something about them that I don't like.

Re: Most expensive meals in WDW
As far as the entire meal is concerned, I'd love to eat the meals shown at the California Grill meal, Il Mulino (love that place anyway!), Jiko, Artist Point, Le Cellier, Shula's, Bluezoo, Wolfgang Puck or the Yachtsman.
All look gorgeous!!

You could also try Kouzzina. That's Cat Cora's (Iron Chef) restaurant, and it's on Boardwalk. Haven't eaten there, but have heard it's amazing.

Re: Most expensive meals in WDW
great article! I'm a vegetarian so wouldn't eat most of those things, I couldn't help but notice how little food is on the plate, I hate places that cost the earth but serve very little food. "fine dining" is not for me.

Re: Most expensive meals in WDW
I agree - but if you check the plates again, you'll see the food is stacked with veggies underneath. The meal looks smaller but often isn't.
For me though, I find the huge piles of (often pretty second-rate) food you get in so many places is quite unecessary and quite off-putting.
I think the signature places are often a case of less-is-more. Sure, you may not get a belly-busting pile of soggy fries with your meal but you get enough and what you do get is a far better quality. I'd rather have a great, manageable plate of excellent food than an over-piles mound of mediocre stomach-filler.
It's just a shame that the signature dining at WDW costs so much. Much as I love it, I do think it's too expensive.

Another thing about what looks like small portions...
These types of dishes tend to be very rich and therefore more filling than you might think.

Re: Most expensive meals in WDW
Honestly - if you're more used the the signature dining spots, I wouldn't bother with Kouzzina.
It's ok but really nothing special. I had teh tenderloin which came with a crust that just tasted burned. My other half had a pretty average lamb shank which you can find just as good in a tin tray on the shelves of most food stores.
The food is better than the old Spoodles but the atmosphere of Spoodles seems to have gone.
I wouldn't say it was bad - far from it - but certainly not a patch on somewhere like Artist Point, Jiko or Citricos.

It's probably on if the better regular restaurants - just nowhere near as good as signature spots.
