Re: Restaurant Suggestions?
Great choices!
I've eaten 4 times and Shutters (it helped that I stayed at CBR), and love it. I recommend Chorizo-Black Bean Soup, the Jerk Crusted Tuna, the Roasted Sweet Plantains and for dessert, the Key Lime Tart! (If they have the Tres Leches cake when you visit, go with that instead...it's awesome!)
The Shrimp Fritters are really good too! In the past I just used my Dining Plan for those, and forked out the 6 bucks or so for the soup (cause I *really* like the soup)
That being said, if you aren't staying at CBR, I might consider skipping Shutters and do something else. Also, while Shutters is really good, Bongos at DD is better, and it's similar food.
I'm mostly concerned about how much of your evening it will eat up most of your evening to go to the resort, eat, and travel back. But, if you are staying there, it's a great way to end the night. If you are there at ~9pm, go out to the deck next to the pool and grab a chair with a nice view of the northern sky. You can see the Illuminations fireworks. They have a small bar there, and it's a lot of fun to get a drink and sit out and watch the fireworks shoot off in the distance.

Thanks, I will try those. As of now we are staying in CBR there are talks of that changing, if so I will keep Bongos in mind.

Re: Restaurant Suggestions?
CBR is a blast to stay at. I stayed there for 2 weeks in 2010 and 2 weeks in 2011. I'm going to Pop this year instead of CBR for the following reasons:
1) Just to try something new
2) Pop was a bit cheaper (not much though)
3) Busses. The CBR busses aren't bad, but they are slow to pick up from the parks at the end of the night, so be ready to wait in the queue for 20 - 30 minutes possibly if you are closing out the park. I suspect it has to do with how long it takes for the bus to make the rounds at the hotel (which is actually a very nice feature, as it's never a very long walk back to your room)...so it's a toss up in the end. Pop just seemed to run more busses, and turn them faster, in my impression.
Also, if you are doing CBR, try and request a room in Aruba buildings 51 / 52 / 53 or Jamaica buildings 45 / 44.
They won't guarantee that, but I've requested both visits and gotten exactly what I asked for both times, so it's worth a shot.
There are several things I like about these buildings. First, you can easily use either the Jamaica or Aruba bus stops. Second, they are both close to the bridge to Caribbean Cay (a small island), so it's a quick walk to Old Port Royal. Also, they are among the last stops the busses go to on their way to the parks, and among the first stops they hit when they come back. This is nice because once you get on the bus to go to the park, you only have 1 or 2 stops to wait through before you are on your way. Then, on the way home, you are among the first stops to be dropped off. There are some exceptions (as it's defined on if the bus is coming in off Victory Way or the Main Entrance on Buena Vista...but most of the time they follow this logic.
Is this your first time at CBR?

Ok thanks, I'll have to look into those rooms. Yes, this will be my first time there. I'm excited! We've only stayed at value resorts before, although we are still considering switching to POP to save some money, but I think we are sticking with CBR.

Re: Restaurant Suggestions?
I agree with all these, they are all great, I was surprised by Chefs des France as reviews have been mixed. The steak there was so good we changed a reservation and went to Chefs des France again. We also had fab meals at The Wave at the Contemporary and Mama Melrose at HS (which surprised me!)

My family, friend and I thoroughly enjoyed Hollywood n vine. It is one of the cheaper buffets on Disney property which is also a huge plus. The food was good, a nice selection of comfort foods °°°°° as Mac and cheese, chicken, potatoes, salads, veggies, ect . Another good aspect of the restaurant is that is allows you to get to the front of the Fantasmic line. Overall this dining experience was quite worth it. The staff was overly accommodating and efficient and the atmosphere provided a feel of the 50s. Great time!

Hahaha! Well I was going to recommend Ohana's but it looks like enough people already covered that. I will say this however. I don't know I anyone else mentioned this but if you plan on going to Ohana's you need to make the reservations way in advance

Another suggestion if you do decide on O'hana ( which I absolutely recommend!), try to time your reservations to be there during fireworks at MK...great view and they pipe in the music!
