re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
I guess you could read a lot of people's answers in the current "What rides do you avoid" thread to get the answer to this question but I'll elaborate on mine...
While I don't rate many of the Disney restaurtants, there's not many that I'd say were particularly bad - I just find them pretty average. The only obvious exception (for me) is the Rainforest Cafe at DTD where we have never failed to have poor service and average food. We won't eat there again now.
As far as rides are concerned, I took an instant dislike to the Tikki Room. Awful place, bad music, bad script and tacky wooden birds that are so unlifelike it's not true. The refurb and new management did nothing to improve the attraction. I think a Tikki Fire is needed here!
To a lesser degree (and while I'm on a whinge-roll) I don't particularly like the Mexican ride in Epcot although we end up doing it every trip (they made a poor ride worse with the ducks too in my view). My opinion of some of the other rides has also gone down simply as I've got bored of them. Most of the 3d films fall into his category, as does the Indy stunt show. The backstage tour and the stunt show at DHS as well as the Jungle Cruise are in danger of heading that way now too.
Just as well there's plenty of other stuff left that I love!
re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
I already whined about my least favorite rides in the "avoid" thread, so I will stick to restaurants here. My least favorite spots to eat are the "standard" counter service restaurants. You know the ones: hamburger, cheeseburger, chicken fingers, or mac and cheese. I was disappointed to see only this fare offered in Epcot at the "U.S.". With a little investigation we have found some great counter service, but I will walk across the entire park rather than eat another cheeseburger that tastes like it came from my high school cafeteria.
re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
I see a difference between "worst attraction" and "attractions I avoid." Just because I avoid something (such as Country Bear Jamboree), it doesn't make it a bad attraction; it's just not my thing.
As far as purely bad attractions go, I would say Sounds Dangerous wins hands down.

re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
lol. So I just realized I had completely forgotten about Sounds Dangerous. I have not done it in years as I thought it was a waste of time.
On the restaurtants.... I really do not care for the new chinese resturant at EPCOT. I felt that I get better service and food at my local take out shop.
I do have to agree with Winkster. Rainforest is an over priced tourist trap.

re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
Well I'm glad I read your opinions. I am actually suprised at a few of your opinions. First off Winkster, I actually do like The Tikki Room but it is a little corny. That I agree on, although I love the Mexican ride because it's actually pretty cool. Now there are a few things I don't like their but I just like the Mexican culture. Most of the 3d films fall into his category, as does the Indy stunt show. The backstage tour and the stunt show at DHS as well as the Jungle Cruise are in danger of heading that way now too.
I'm sorry to say but I don't agree with this either.
re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
Oh, I totally agree with Winkster about the Rainforest. It's just an overpriced shopping mall chain restaurant. They are in 13 states and in Mexico, Canada, England, France, Japan, etc. There's one in a nearby mall. It's about as unique as Cheesecake Factory (but not nearly as good).
The new Mexico ride is pretty bad. I used to like the old one...good cheesy fun! But the addition of the Disney character cheapens the Mexican culture, I think.
I do like It's a Small World, though. Brings me back to my childhood. And it's very pretty since the rehab.

re: What's the WORST attraction or restaurant at Disney World?
I agree on Rainforest, totally overpriced! Believe it or not there is one or two rides/attractions I severely dislike in every park except Animal Kingdom. First is Sounds Dangerous, worst on property, next would be Stitch's Great escape, then Mexico ride. And Honerable mention for worsts would be Indy stunt show, journey into imagination, tiki room, and carousel of progress (even tho we ride it everytime, mostly for the Air Conditioning)

I know I'm going to be threatened a beating with a Tomato Pickled Herring here but ....... Maelstrom. Hands down! My daughter and I saw this in EPCOT on our first trip and we were thinking of the Matterhorn in Disneyland. Boy, were we WAY off!! I can tell you what, it would take a ship full of Norse Vikings to tie me to one of those boats again. And we got stuck in the "mandatory show" after the ride because we were not quick enough to get the heck out there before it started. LOL I could see others milling around as well looking for something heavy to bash the door open for an escape.
Each time we have walked by this ride since then we all kind of shudder and think of the "Maelstrom Torture of 2005".

I agree. I was really disappointed with Nine Dragons. We're used to Chinese restaurants being gentle, calm affairs with staff who are quietly efficient and incredibly polite (maybe that's just how they are round here?).
Like WaltDizWiz, we found the food to be average (in fact not as good as our local takeaway) and the service a little frantic. They were polite, friendly and efficient (as Disney usually is) but this just wasn't the same.

I agree completely about Mexican culture. I think it's one of the reasons we always do the ride, despite it's shortcomings - it's a fascinating culture.
And Small World - I love it!!

LOL!
I love that reply and I so know what you mean - although, like Mexico, we always go back to Maelstrom! I think it's the backwards bit I like but the rest is a little - erm - odd.
And everyone MUST learn, when the entrance doors open for the film show, run, run, run - as if your life depended on it! Run for the doors on the other side. Trample anyone in your way - just run!
Don't stop - just run!

Really? Eeeek - we were thinking of trying it this year.
I love Epcot and we both love Italian food so it seemed an obvious combination.
Maybe a rethink is needed!

SOOOO MUCH EXCITEMENT AND DEBATE! GUYS I TRULY LOVE THIS!!! Alrite. Number 1 Although I like the Rainforest Cafe's Atmosphere it is getting to the point where it has just become way to expensive. Number 2 CueLannoo how could you say that the Carousel of Progress is a bad ride?? That is also " A Classic". Number 3 I can't IMAGAINE "get it for figment" why you would say that journey into your imagination is bad. Although, like I said earlier, It mite be corny. Number 4 GoofDad that story is hilarious!!!! Number 5 I'm not real sure how American Idol Experience is a waste of space either. That is really fun!! Umm... I guess you have to think of the people from different countries too sometimes when you at epcot. I've never heard of Sounds Dangerous
You know I am only 12 years old too.
