Thats interesting. I emailed and someone at wdw and they emailed back and sounded as if they won't do that but I quess i can. I guess they don't want me to do what you did because it works.
What I usually do is play around with booking on-line, get several packages at different resorts for when we want to go and save them for later, then when I'm ready to book I call WDW travel and give my e-mail and other info and they know what I've been looking at.
I then book a package - room, park tickets and dinning - last year I booked air too. If you book with air they make you pay for the air in full at that time plus a $200 deposit for the room package. This year I booked everything except air and only gave a $200 deposit. I always purchase trip insurance just incase!
So far this year I've received an e-mail with a pin-code for 40% off room rate which I applied when I booked! Based on what I saved I think that the only other discount that might save me more would be the buy 4 get 3 free because it includes 3 free park tickets along with the free nights for the room.
This year we are trying to bring our older DD's along with us, which is tricky - they are both in collage and their schedules change with the new terms. At this point I have everyone on the reservation but I was told by the CM who booked our trip that I could remove one or both without penalty up to 45 days befor our trip. That would mean I would receive a credit for the extra adults in the room and also for their dinning plan and park tickets.
My advise is to sign-up for every disney related e-mail that you can, that way you are in their system and if specials come up you will find out. Also keep tabs on the touring plans site and the all ears site - they find out about things befor they are released to the public! Last year I found out about the buy 4 get 3 free offer two days befor it was official, and I actually was able to book it the two days early!!

Hi We just went a month ago it was so quiet for disney we didn't even have to wait in line for any rides. But the only bad thing was the first day we got there we always go and ride splash mountain first and it was closed. But it was awesome and were so excited for it to open
We were last at the World in May'08 and are heading back in just 5 weeks! I can't wait. I think I have officially started driving my friends and co-workers crazy with all my talk of Disney. I think if I share one more Disney story with them they might just pelt me with paper clips.

WOW my last visit to WDW was in 2005 for my 50th, I was picked to be the Grand Marshall of the Parade which was such a thrill. DL in 2008 to see Nightmare Before Christmas at the Haunted Mansion Love that winter change to the Park.
Favorite Park: magic kingdom, or hollywood studios...i cant decide!
Favorite Attraction: expidition everest!

I was just there Feb 2010 heading back in 149 days (Aug/sept 2010)!! We have never been down during school break vacation, we thought we would try it to get away from the heat of August. but the HUGE downfall was the crowds. we are not use to such big crowds. So we came home and booked for the heat of August. Now we know!! Maybe next year we will try the first week of Dec. I've heard that time of year is wonderful.(if i can talk the hubby into taking the kids out of school.)
