8. hearing the announcer guy on the buses say "you'll be home soon"
Oh you're sooo right! I'd forgotten that one!
I think that's such a nice touch - WDW referring to your resort as "home".
For me, the bus announcements sound even better as they are very "American". Generally, us boring Brits don't talk in the same "hospitable" way.
I know that might sound odd but I can't describe it any other way.
When us Brits say things like that, it just sounds corny, sarcastic and OTT and yet, put an American accent with it and it sounds so right and so "Disney".
And for us, hearing an American accent makes it more exciting too as it reminds me we're miles from home and somewhere special.

Re: Things you will always remember from WDW
i know, id forgotten about it too until we were there in december and we were on our way back from DTD, and i was so ready to get back, and they said that, and i thought it really compasses the disney feel.
its interesting to me that you think that americans sound more hospitable, because to me, american accents sound harsh, where as british accents sound more calm and sophisticated. but thats just my opinion.

My first trip at 16 would always stand out, then it would have to be any of the time my kids were little and watching their faces during the parades.
Lastly, for now would be when I was picked to be the Grand Marshall for the Magic Kingdom parade on my 50th Birthday.
Of course taking my grand babies to the Happiest Place on earth will be my next great memory.
This is my list for Disneyland since I've never been to Disney World
1: Staying in the dream suite above POTC! (yeah that's right I won the dream suite)
2:the snow white wishing well singing back to me
3:the huge crowd of people on the day after Christmas( I will NEVER go on that day again
4:riding in the lily belle on the back of the train with my Grandpa
5: watchin turtle talk with Crush for the first time
6:riding Tower of Terror for the first time
7:watching the premeire of Princess Diaries 2 in down town Disney
8:the smell of POTC when you first walk in the doorway
9:When I trip on the lights behind the jumping jelly fish and scrapped my knee (ever since then they always say "please walk in front of the jelly fish")
10:wearing two inch flip flops in order to ride Indianna Jones with the rest of my family

I loved reading everyone's memories I have to do my own:
1. I will always remember my 1st trip to WDW. At 26yrs old I was finally experiencing the one thing I always wanted to do as a kid. The extra bonus was that I was sharing it with my daughter and many members of my family. The smile on my face was so big I walked down Main Street towards the Castle I often wonder if people looked at me funny.
2. My Daughter and Niece getting to be the Fantasmic Princesses.
3. Celebrating my Dad's 50th birthday at the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian Resort
4.Me acting like a 5yr old when I got to meet Mary Poppins.
5. My 1st Turkey Leg
6. The wonderful Cast Member at the The World of Disney Store in DTD (Anne I believe-I'll remember her face forever anyway) Who gave my daughter what seemed like a roll of stickers for her to bring back for her classmates.
7. Aladdin laughing out loud when Genie's beard got caught on the front of my Shirt as he hugged me

GEtting us back on track, I guess the other thing that I always remember is the feeling of complete relaxation.
Disney has this great ability to make you forget everything going on back home and just enjoy yourself.
From that first smell of POR (nothing bad of course - just the cool smell of the air con as you walk through the door for the first time and see everyone going about their vacations in "fun mode"), all your cares and worries just drop away.
I can't wait to get back to that!

Re: Things you will always remember from WDW
haha well thanks winkster!
i'll also never forget the time we went on astro orbitor, with me and my cousin in one "ship" and my mom and aunt in another. we had a lot of fun on the ride, and when it stopped me and my cousin popped out of the car with no problems. however my mom and aunt got stuck! it took them about ten minutes to get out of the ride! it was so great! LOL

I'll always remember how dizzy and nauseated I got on Astro Orbiter...NEVER AGAIN! (Same—but to a slightly lesser degree—goes for Dumbo and Aladdin.)
I'll always remember to curl my legs under me on the chair at Honey I Shrunk the Audience so the mice don't get me!
I'll always remember to get Fastpasses for Peter Pan because that line is probably the worst one in all of WDW.
I'll always remember going to DL on Thanksgiving. I thought everyone would be home having Thanksgiving dinner, but no! It seemed like half the population of California decided to spend the day at the park. It was so crowded we could barely move!
I'll always remember the Eastern Airlines ride, If You Had Wings.
I'll always remember being afraid that the cable would snap on the Skyway, causing our car to come crashing to the ground.
I'll always remember the wonderful dinner I had at Jiko.
I'll always remember to sit up front on Kilimanjaro Safari so I can ask the driver questions and because the back seats tend to be too bumpy.
I'll always remember certain wonderful CMs I've met over the years.
