Well my vote is yes it is! We went last year on Halloween and are going back this year on Columbus Day weekend...what we do is get up and do other things at WDW like go to the pool (which I admit depends on the weather...but last year was hot on Halloween weekend) and went to Downtown Disney....then went back to our resort (we stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort in a pirate room...that what our Halloween theme...we had a Capt Hook, Tinkerbell (ages 13 adn 14 months) and pirates and wenches to go with them...change into our costumes and go to MK.
You can get into the MK at 4 pm with MNSSH ticket even though the party does not start until 7 pm...it is really fun and there are things that are not out any other time...the parade and fireworks are awesome and not like a regular night...also you don't have to buy a park ticket that day...so that saves you some money...the MNSSH is not as expensive as the regular park ticket.
but yes DTD is all decortated all the time too...until NOV 2nd on the dot...we were there on Nov 2 last year and it was all gone overnight!!!! LOL
I think it was worth the ticket...we got ours in the mail last week!!! Have a great trip!

Well, it depends. Your children are pretty young (esp. the 3 yo). Do they stay up late naturally, or are they early-to-bed sorts? My kids and I went last year, and it was fun, but it was pricey (we have APs so it was just additional cost). The decorations look extra-cool in the dark, there are special fireworks, trick-or-treating locations with candy (mostly non chocolate), and you can meet villains at various locations. But both my kids at age 3 would've totally freaked out meeting villains . The fellows with the banjos played in masks and the decor really is neat, but again, it comes down to do you really want to pay all that $$ for a few hours. Decide if your kids can actually have fun late (usually 7-12).
Also, if you just want a bit of spooky, there is a haunted carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness that tells the story of the headless horseman, with props and such, and the headless horseman really rides towards you---that was fun, too. Don't remember the pricing on it, though.
HTH,
Lori

Re: Is MNSSHP worth it???
I think it was worth it. My kids were 2 and 6 last year when we went. (same age as yours now). And they were so excited about being at disney that we couldnt get them to sleep much at all. so the late hours didnt really matter to us.
The decorations were amazing and the kids loved getting the candy. We went in the park at 4pm and got some dinner around 5ish so we wouldnt be hungry for the party.
The headless horseman was awesome too. I say its well worth the extra $$$.
We have been to the pirate and princess party, the MNSSHP, and next november when we go, we are going to the MVMCP....Cant wait!!!

YES !! It is SO worth it. Just the fact that you can walk onto any ride with little to NO wait makes it worth it for me. Plus the fireworks display is like NO other.

Hmmm ... I still cannot decide whether or not we will attend this. Then we are gonna have to drag costumes onto our luggage and plane. I just don't know ... it's quite expensive if you think about it and already are a resort member ... Jeez, I don't know!!!

It is so worth it. My family goes every year it is so much fun you get lots of candy. The ages in my family are from 47 to 6 years old. So it's great for all age. We get there around 4 and have dinner before hand. snice it starts at 7. The shows are great. You don't have to odress up if you don't want to, but it is fun to walk aroundi the park in one. lol I hope you go if you do have a good time
Let us know what you decide to do. Even though it was expensive (and very cold!) last year, the kids really wanted to go again this year when we're there in a week, so we are going to do it again! This time, though, I don't think we'll be dressing up...we'll see !

WOW what week did you go...we went on Halloween last year and it was in the high 80 all weekend...we had to take off parts of the kids costumes it was so hot! We went swimming at CBR on November 1st and it was beautiful....I know it may have been a little unseasonably warm (CM told us that...average is in low 80 during the day) but I think it is really nice in October in FL...much warmer than the midwest with sweatshirts a must in October at least after dark.
Go it is a lot of fun!!!
