Dine with an Imagineer Questions?
I have this booked next trip in August, and I'm sure they already have a presentation for me, but I'm curious...what would you ask/suggest to a Disney Imagineer if you had the chance?
I really only have one major suggestion, and that is to do a jedi makeover spot near Star Tours, similar to the pirates and BBB experience. Move the crowd strangle that is the "custom light saber" over there, and out of the end of the ride.
For the top common answers (if this thread gets enough attention), I'll post a poll the last week before my visit (week ending August 8). That way we can come up with what to ask as a community. The winning questions (if appropriate) I'll ask during the lunch, and report the answers that night!

Re: Dine with an Imagineer Questions?
I think it also depends on which Imagineer you get. Questions for a ride designer would be different from questions for a librarian (yes, there are librarian Imagineers).
So you should probably have several different questions prepared. Have a question about rides, a question about Disney history, a question about Disney restaurants, etc.

Re: Dine with an Imagineer Questions?
Yeah. An Archivist would be fantastic, they are all into the depths of Disney Lore. But, I have no idea whom I will be dining with. I expect they will have an outline for the dinner ready to go to keep it from being stale, but I have no idea.
I just figured I could collect some nice general questions/suggestions here.

Re: Dine with an Imagineer Questions?
I would ask (doesnt matter who the imagineer is),
What is your favorite part about your job?
Whats your favorite ride?
How long have you been an imagineer?
What are your hobbies?
Who is your favorite disney character?
What is your favorite thing about working for disney world?
will post more if i think of more...hope this helps

Would love to know how they became an imagineer?
What would they ask Walt Disney if he was still alive?

What was his/her favorite thing to make?
How long have they been interested in doing what they do best?
What advice would you give a child/teen looking to enter into this kind of field?

Re: Dine with an Imagineer Questions?
I'd ask for stories, like what's the weirdest or funniest thing that has happened during his/her Imagineering career so far?

I would definitely ask him what's in the works and what's up and coming? I would like to know what he is currently working on

Re: Dine with an Imagineer Questions?
How about...
Are the WDW Imagineers aware of websites like Talk Disney?
Do they ever read suggestions made by members of sites like ours and use the ideas in their work?
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away!
