Re: New Park Idea- Yesterland
In that case, I'm sure WDW has LOADS of spare space. That was the whole idea of buying such a massive area of land wasn't it - plenty of room for expansion.
The "old rides" idea has been mentioned quite a lot on TD so it would seem pretty popular.
I do worry that these rides were removed for a reason though so maybe they're not all that popular. I know there's lots I'd like to see back though.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away!

Now that I think about it more, some of the rides were removed for a reason... I'm not sure what reasons though. :/

I had this idea before. I think it should be a new land at MK. The whole area would be completely retro including the CM's outfits, meet & greets of retired characters, vintage merchandise and reproductions, and maybe even the food.
Attractions would be Mr Toad, Mission to Mars, 20,000 Leagues, If You Had Wings, and Timekeeper. They could also add in some oldies from DL like the Flying Saucers.
By the way, there's already a website called Yesterland that's all about the old attractions.

Disney owns ESPN, so I guess they say that's enough of a connection.

I think a good idea for the park is for it's several lands to be themed to ewach park the ride is from. The lands would be magic kingdom, epcot, mgm, and so on. Thoughts on this?
Also, do you guys think they should add the return of alien encounter at "yesterland" or just put it back in MK, replacing stitch?

But so many guests are always on Mission Space and Ellen's Energy Adventure. Every time we visit Disney, there is such a LONG WAIT for the two.

Ellen's wait is long because the attraction lasts 45 minutes.

Re: New Park Idea- Yesterland
Even if they didn't do a whole "yesterland" park, it would be cool if they did some VR / simulator where you could "pick a ride", and then just had the rest of it as a rotating exhibit from the Disney archives of old merchandise, costumes, retired characters, Disney Trivia, etc. While I think this would work well in either Ellens or Wonders of Life, I think it would probably be more suiting to put it in Magic Kingdom (somewhere near/in Main St. USA), or Hollywood Studios (HS simply because it already has that "nostalgia" thing going on with it)

Re: New Park Idea- Yesterland
Very similar, yeah. But even more detailed and on a grander scale. I could see this working very well (size wise) at Wonders of Life at EPCOT. For the kids, they could move the character meet and greet over there instead of in Innoventions (a thought). Have mickey and the gang dressed up in classic EPCOT "space suits" (if you remember those).
Could be loads of fun.
