    Art Lessons @ WDW

Does anyone know if there is a place to go for art inspired children interested in one day becoming an animator?

I remember when I was younger, I got to take some art lessons in either Hollywood Studios or DTD. I learned how to draw Mickey and Minnie, so I learned all the steps. I think that is the closest you can get.

You need to head to Disney Animation at DHS. They will teach you to draw Mickey there and there's also chance to see animators at work.

I've heard about this. Does anyone know if adults can do this, too? It sounds like fun.

Actually, if it hasn't changed since I did it in 2008, the seats are actually geared toward adults. I did it with my mother and two of my children (aged 10 and 5 at the time) the little one had to sit on my backpack in order to see the artist so no cramming adult bodies into kindergarten chairs .

Each artist does one character (we did Pooh). it was a lot of fun for all of us. Definitely worth the 20 minutes out of the sun!

We've done this a few times and really enjoy it. The art class has a size limit of about 20. You get your own drawing tools and paper. The the cast member show step by step instructions on how to draw a famous Disney character. Then you get to keep your drawing! Its a nice free souvenir.

Do you only draw one character that every guest draws? Because I would love to do this when I go but draw characters I like

The whole class draws the same character and you never know in advance which character you're going to do.

Awe well im sure it will just be cool to draw whatever you get on the day. Although I'm sure my drawing will look nothing like the character depicted as I can't draw to save my life

On our last trip in 2009 my dh and dd (6at the time) did the drawing sessions probably three or four times in a row, each time drawing a different character, we did Mickey, Donald and one other I can't remember. You just get back in line when you exit into the gift shop. No limit and short lines, and also nice cool retreat from the heat. Not to mention free souvenirs, a rare find at WDW! We're going for Christmas week this year and my dd now 9 is already talking about doing it again!
