Summary Some problems

Reviewer's Comments

Problems stemmed from lack of detail from the staff in housekeeping and maintanence. Upon arrival in our 3 bedroom villa we found numerous kitchen and dinning supplies missing, our dishwasher had been pulled away from the wall, and numerous light fixtures needed new bulbs. Even one of the toilet tanks had been knocked out of alignment. Maintenace came in within one hour of check-in and replaced the lighting and fixed the dishwasher, however they could not fix the toilet and never came back. The resort is in the process of a room upgrade and this is definitely needed.

Summary Great resort!

Reviewer's Comments

My family bought into Old Key West when we joined the Disney Vacation Club. Although we occasionally stay elsewhere on property, it\'s always great to stay at Old Key West. I just returned from a 2 night stay there. We really enjoyed the main pool and were excited to use the slide, as I haven\'t been there since before it was built. The slide adds a little bit of extra to the already great main pool area. The bus transportation has also always been very efficient for me. We got everywhere we needed to go on time, and also witnessed a few of the bus drivers going out of their way for resort passengers to get them to the main pool or wherever they needed to go. We really enjoyed our dinner at Olivia\'s Cafe, the food is good and the service was excellent. The rooms are also great. The studio, the smallest room, is larger than the regular hotel rooms elsewhere on property. It comes equipped with a microwave and fridge. I\'ve also stayed in the 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units there. The added amenities (washer and dryer, dish washer, stove, etc) are wonderful. The master bath in the larger units that includes the jacuzzi style tub is also wonderful! The 3 bedroom villa is BEAUTIFUL and is great for larger groups. Everyone is always impressed by the villa when they first see it. There\'s lots to do and plenty of fun memories to make at the resort alone - it\'s where I learned to ride a bike as a kid, for example! Overall it\'s a beautifully themed resort with a staff who really make you feel at home, and I recommend staying at it.

Summary Best Resort on Disney

Reviewer's Comments

I love the fact that you are so close to the parks, but away from all the noise. It is my favourit resort and don\\\'t want to stay anywhere else. We always take a 1 bedroom for 2 adults and 2 kids. It is great having a full kitchen and laundry room. We have found it better to drive when staying at this resort as it is big, but we still take buses to some of the parks. You can park your car outside your apartment which is a big plus.

Summary Old Key West Review

Reviewer's Comments

I have several complaints about this resort. First and foremost, there were no sidewalks. When walking to and from the pool and bus stop, we had to walk in the street. This was very dangerous with 3 small children. Plus, the transportation wasn't very good. Our room was pretty far from the main office and it took us forever for the bus to get to our stop and then it had to go through several more stops before we got to the front. We couldn't walk to the main office even if we wanted to because of the lack of sidewalks. We were also put off by the location of the laundry facilities. We had to walk 3 blocks to and from the laundry room to clean our clothes. It's a good thing it wasn't raining because the clothes would have gotten soaked by the time we got back to the room. Other hotels we have stayed at had a laundry facility for each floor. I would think Disney would offer this to their guests as well. My kids did really enjoy the pool. They loved the slide coming out for the sand castle. In fact, we left Blizzard Beach mid day because it was too hot and spent the rest of the day at the main pool and the kids had just as much fun.
