A little back ground first. My 7y/o son HATES log rides. For that matter he hates anything that looks like a log ride (boat). That became an issue on his first trip to Disney b/c EVERYTHING looks like a log ride. I remember him asking if it dropped real fast....that being the part he hates on log rides.... I said no forgeting about that first drop.... After I dug his fingers out of my arm however, he had a wonderful time on this classic ride and it made my day to see him react the way my parents must have seen me react.

I must say I was a little leery about the updates, that being said there was only one real subtraction (the barker bird on the outside of the queue) but the additions are amazing. Perhaps some of the most realistic AA's I have ever seen. The did a great job putting in the new story elements and folding them in with the old and the attraction has a nice shine that it was missing due to a good cleaning of sound effects and polishing up in general. Also be on the lookout for a new Captain Jack Sparrow/pirates show outside the attraction with awesome and realistic portrayal of the Cap'n Jack.

Awesome! It's an old ride that still has appeal...I can't believe my mother rode this ride when she was a child and I rode it as a child and now my children are riding it...and it's still just as awesome as it was then...This ride will never out-date itself...Mr. Walt Disney out did himself when it comes to this ride!
