Disney Busses:
They're everywhere: and they're free; and wherever you're going, they run at least every twenty minutes; and they are blessedly, refreshingly coooollll inside.

In fact, using the Disney Transportation System is one of the main benefits of staying at a Disney resort: you never have to park your car in an enormous parking lot. Possibly, at certain peak times driving your car may be faster than using the Disney buses-- but by and large, the buses do an excellent job.

Even theme park-visitors who aren't staying at Disney resorts are free to use the Disney buses to travel from park to park, or to the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon waterparks, and Downtown Disney.

The only inconvenience in the Disney transport system arises if you're going from one resort to another one: if, for example, you're staying at Caribbean Beach and want to have dinner at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. In these cases, you'll have to use one of the theme parks, as a hub.

Summary serve their purpose

Reviewer's Comments

Generally speaking the busses do very well to get you from point A to point B. Normally the wait times are 20 min or less and minimal crowding. However, there are exceptions. During sudden downpours, late night park closings, and then often times at value resort hotels the busses can get very overcrowded. And yes there will be times when you wait for 3 or 4 busses (or more) before you finally make it on board while you see other bus stops getting several busses at once. That can be aggravating, but when you consider the amount of people that are all leaving at once I think that Disney does the best that it can. When they see large crowds for one resort - they usually radio for extra busses. It's just something you will probably encounter at least once during a visit.

Summary Why diesel?

Reviewer's Comments

Very good and reliable system. Usually wait times from park to park is fairly short. Wjy not electric or some other alternative fuel for the buses. They are loud and probably not very environmentally friendly.

Summary Disney Buses

Reviewer's Comments

We just spent 9 days at WDW, and I have to say I was very disappointed with the Bus service, last time I was there the service was great, this time, not so great. We waited at times in excess of 30 minutes for a bus to a park and in that time 2 - 3 buses would come for another park. I traveled with a toddler and we brought along his stroller, I found this to be most troubling because at times our group would split up and I would take my son back to the hotel for a nap (I needed one too ), and I would have a sleepy toddler and a closed up stroller (not an umbrella stroller either, one of the big ones) and the driver would not even offer to help me on the bus with the stroller, and we would constantly have to ask the driver to open the rear door because it was easier to bring the stroller through the back than to hit people with it coming from the front, one driver actually told us no, and stated that they are not allowed to do that and they are not allowed to help us on either !! We called him on this and his supervisor informed him and us, that he is in fact suppose to open the rear door if requested. We didn't even bother to question the helping part, that I believe should be a matter of courtesy. I am planning on bringing my son again next summer, and hopefully he will be big enough to forgo the stroller, and if not I guess I will have to rent them at the parks, because I do not want to go through this awful experience again. But on the good side we did have a few drivers that were very friendly and helped with our requests. They should instruct the drivers on common courtesy.

Summary Great!

Reviewer's Comments

I\'ve always enjoyed using the disney bus system and agree with the many other positive reviews. I just wanted to say this past weekend I traveled using the bus transportation and in addition to being on time and efficient (the longest I waited was the advertised 20 minutes), I found that the drivers really went out of their way to cater to the needs of every passenger. They were helpful to those with special needs, waited longer than necessary for passengers running to catch the bus, and dropped people off at stops that were a little off the beaten path - including stopping for a second time at the main pool and dropping off a family who was running late for a Chef Mickey\'s reservation at the Contemporary on the way to the MK.
