Reviewer's Comments:
Summary: Extraordinary experience!

Watching the animals from my savanna-view balcony was wonderful. There are savanna viewing areas scattered through the resort, so even if your room doesn't overlook the savannas, you can still get that experience.

I found AKL very relaxed. I was staying in one of the DVC studios in Jambo House. It is still in good shape with a very comfortable bed. There's a flat-screen TV and DVD player in the entertainment unit. The two things I found odd were that there was no closet, only a stand-alone wardrobe, and the bathroom door was so big, it required me to step in the bathroom to the other side of the toilet in order to close the door. Also, there's a sticker on the balcony door that warns you of camera surveillance due to security needed to protect and monitor the animals.

There is a wide selection of food - from the high-end Jiko to the counter service Mara. The pool is huge, and there appear to be plenty of lounge chairs. There's a small fitness center that I didn't discover until my last day at the resort, but it's very clean with a good variety of machines.

Having the covered walkway from the lobby to the buses is a big plus on rainy days. Transportation can take awhile, so leave plenty of time to get anywhere. There's a walkway to Kidani Village if you want to go visit over there or have dinner plans at Sanaa.

Overall, I fell head over heels in love with this resort. From the moment you walk in to the lobby, the wow factor doesn't let up. The themeing is wonderful, and there's so much to do, you could spend the whole day at the hotel and not miss the parks. There's a bulletin board down by Boma with a list of the day's activities for kids of all ages.
