“Homer no function beer well without.”
– Homer Simpson
Homer, your request has been heard.
Yesterday, Jimmy Clarity had the pleasure of sampling the newest Duff Beer offering in Springfield U.S.A. at Universal Studios Florida, and it was pure fermented deliciousness. Dufftoberfest, a limited edition, Marzen-style beer with a touch of caramel, is available now through Oct. 31 at the home of The Simpsons.
Jim sat down with Bill Young, Assistant Director of Revenue Operations, to find out a little bit more about this easy-drinking, German-style brew. Here’s what he had to say:
What is the inspiration behind Dufftoberfest?
We wanted to create something very special for both fans of the Simpsons, who are very loyal to the brand, and fans of good beer. We’re hearing great things about the drink so far.
Universal already offers three distinct Duff brews unique to Springfield. What was the thought behind adding another?
We’ve been working on a specialty beer for about two years now. Our fans really enjoy new and diverse experiences, so we’re always challenging ourselves to develop products you can’t find anywhere else.
What would Homer think of this beer?
It’s not too dark, and it’s not too light, which makes it really easy to drink. I think Homer would be all about that. He can really put ‘em back.
Indeed. And I think you’ll know why once you’ve tried a Dufftoberfest for yourself. So lets meet at the Duff Brewery for a cold one—the first round’s on me.
