Walt Disney World continues to expand the uses for the My Disney Experience smartphone app and the list of restaurants accepting mobile ordering at the resort.
A recent update to the app gives annual passholders the ability to renew their passes digitally.
The app now can keep track of the Disney Dining Plan uses and the purchases made that are charged to rooms at Disney World hotels.
Disney now has 15 counter-service restaurants that accept ordering via the app. They include Columbia Harbour House, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn, Pinocchio Village Haus and Tomorrowland Terrace at Magic Kingdom; Electric Umbrella and Liberty Inn at Epcot; ABC Commissary, Backlot Express and PizzeRizzo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari Restaurantosaurus and Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom; and D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs.
Mobile users place orders through the app and pick up the food at designated windows. Currently, the only method of payment is by credit card attached to the app account, but to company is “working on adding more payment options soon,” according to a post on the official Disney Parks Blog.
The post also indicates that the mobile-ordering program will continue to expand this year.
