Disney is already planning its next cruise ship, despite the fact that the Disney Wish just set sail in July. The Disney Treasure cruise ship will have an Agrabah theme, complete with a “gilded grand hall” and a statue depicting Aladdin, Jasmine, and their magic carpet.
This was announced on Sunday at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim during the Disney Parks and Experiences Panel.
Disney Parks chief Josh D’Amaro also provided an exclusive sneak peek at Disney’s upcoming private island resort in the Bahamas, which will be a popular stop for Disney cruises once it officially opens. D’Amaro assured the public that the Disney team is coordinating with area residents to provide a genuine experience. A youth recreation facility will be included on the island alongside dining and shopping venues.
To honor Walt Disney’s lifetime passion for travel, the company’s creative minds have come up with a brand-new design concept based on the idea of adventure.
The Grand Hall was designed to evoke the splendor and mystique of a golden palace, relying on actual Asian and African design elements while also paying respect to the faraway region of Agrabah. This iconic monument will include Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Magic Carpet as its focal point.
