BREAKING! Star Wars just dropped a new #Ahsoka trailer with a release date!

Star Wars has officially announced the release date for the new trailer for the animated series Ahsoka.

It turns out that The Mandalorian is fertile ground for offshoots. The Mandalorian’s premiere on Disney+ in the fall of 2019 was a relatively restricted bounty hunter story, but the show’s second season opened up several other avenues in which Star Wars may travel beyond the core narrative of Din Djarin. Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, the fan-favorite Jedi from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, was the focus of one such discussion. Ahsoka, played by Dawson, made her début in Season 2 of The Mandalorian in order to provide the groundwork for her own spin-off series with the same name, in which she will probably seek out Grand Admiral Thrawn.

While the cast and crew have been keeping quiet about Ahsoka, they will be releasing the first images from the show at Star Wars Celebration on Friday. The photos reveal Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren for the first time and show the twin lightsaber user taking off her hood.

The first official poster for the series also made its appearance alongside the photos, coupled with a release window of August 2023.

The first teaser trailer for the program was released by Lucasfilm alongside the teaser stills and poster, and you can see it out down below…

Dawson also stated that viewers may expect Ahsoka to be in the show for the foreseeable future.

Maybe we’ll get a second season if this works well,” Dawson said.

Also starring in Ahsoka are Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan, David Tennant as Huyang, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Rosario Dawson and Heather Bordizzo also had small roles. Behind the scenes, the program also features notable talent, most notably in the shape of Star Wars expert Dave Filoni. In addition to his role as showrunner, Filoni also writes and directs many episodes.

Lucky for Dawson, Filoni has stressed that there is a wider story at play in this spin-off project, raising the possibility of a second episode.

A continuous narrative, Ahsoka, Filoni said. In my opinion, there is a clear forward momentum, rather than random, isolated encounters. That’s where I want to see the character, and I believe that’s where the audience is at this point. They feel quite close to her. All those young viewers of Clone Wars are now adults, and they have every right to be enthusiastic about the media they grew up with.

In August, Ahsoka will be available to stream on Disney+.
