According to the official poster that was just released, another upcoming Simpsons-related short will allegedly bring at least one of Disney Animation’s most adored villains to Springfield. On September 8, The Simpsons: Welcome to the Club made its streaming debut as an exclusive for Disney+ Day.
“Heart set on being a princess, Lisa Simpson is astonished to realize being wicked can be more fun,” the official logline states.
The long-running series’ Lisa (voiced by Yeardley Smith) is seen on the billboard having a Thelma & Louise moment while riding shotgun behind Ursula, the bespectacled sea witch from The Little Mermaid (1989).
Pat Carroll, an Emmy-winning actress who voiced Ursula in the animated film directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, passed away in July at the age of 95. Carroll may or may not have recorded for Welcome to the Club; the cast and crew have not yet been released.
Welcome to the Club follows previous Simpson’s specials on Disney+, such as Billie Eilish’s When Billie Met Lisa, The Force Awakens from Its Nap, which was produced in honor of the streamer’s first birthday, and Plusaversary.
