Every day is a special event at Disney to celebrate their great culinary selections, but July 19 has been designated as Dole Whip Day, and we couldn’t be more pleased to share this news.

Anyone who has visited the Disney parks is familiar with the Dole Whip dessert. It’s virtually solely offered in Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines, and Aulani Disney Resort and Spa. The original Dole Whip was initially sold at Walt Disney World in 1984 at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom.

Since its introduction all those years ago (when it was only available in pineapple flavor, by the way! ), a plethora of variations of the fat-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free snack have been accessible throughout Disney’s resorts. A unique Tamatoa-inspired dessert will be offered through July 21 in celebration of the all-new Dole Whip Day. Tamatoa is a character in the latest Disney film Moana, in case you missed it!

This unique Dole Whip combines raspberry Dole Whip and orange Dole Whip in a white chocolate-dipped waffle coat that is then dusted with beautiful gold sugar. The Tamatoa Dole Whip will only be offered at Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for a short time. These options are, of course, subject to availability.

Other flavors of the sweet are available—watermelon! Mango! Lime!—found at Disney resorts such as Disneyland’s Tropical Hideaway, Magic Kingdom’s Sunshine Tree Terrace, and Disney Springs’ Marketplace Snacks.
