For the first time ever, Disneyland will be opening a bar on site to cater to adults looking for experimental cocktails or brews. The Star Wars-themed bar, Oga’s Cantina, will be arriving at Disneyland in Anaheim this summer, offering Star Wars-themed cocktails, brews, non-alcoholic beverages, food, and great tunes.
The new bar in Disneyland will be located in Stars Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which also opens in summer 2019, and will be the park’s very first bar. The bar is run by an alien called Oga Garra, known to be strict and tough, running his bar smoothly and keeping unruly customers in check. The opening of Oga’s Cantina will also mark the first time visitors are able to purchase alcoholic beverages in the park. The drinks, however, must be fully consumed within the bar and not taken outside. This is different from the Disney Sea resort in Tokyo, where guests are able to walk around the park with beers and other alcoholic drinks. In a response to a Tweet, the Disneyland Annual Passholder account stated that guests will need to stay in Oga’s Cantina while drinking.
Inside the bar, a creative team will be concocting some delicious-looking Star Wars-themed cocktails. Offerings will include The Outer Rim, an exotic margarita with a black salt rim and the Yub Nub, a sweet, fruity passion fruit rum punch. The Jedi Mind Trick sounds appealing (mostly because of the name), a grapefruit concoction bursting with sweet and sour notes. For the non-cocktail lovers out there, Oga’s Cantina will have some exclusive craft beers on tap, including the Bad Motivator IPA and White Wampa Ale. There will also be a variety of beverages available for children and non-drinkers, including the Blue Bantha, a glass of blue milk (what Luke Skywalker drank in A New Hope) topped with a cookie. Themed coffees, like the Black Spire cold brew, and juices will be available for those crisp mornings at Disneyland. The droid R-3X, known previously as Captain Rex of the original star-speeder simulator ride, will be the DJ at Oga’s Cantina, offering a mix of the best beats in the galaxy.
Although the focus will be on drinks, a small food menu will be available with pub snacks and a few dishes. For more food options, visitors will have to venture out into Galaxy’s Edge and hunt down the delicious meats at Ronto Roasters or the Shaar Roast at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo restaurant.
The Galaxy’s Edge land will open in Disneyland in Anaheim in summer 2019, and in Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida in fall 2019. Both sites will have an Oga’s Cantina, so make sure to drop in for a Star Wars ale when you can!
