Disney is building a ride based on the movie ‘Inside Out’ — and it will make you feel all the emotions

Fans of Disney Pixar will undoubtedly love Disneyland’s new Pixar Pier at California Adventure, but next year, they’ll have yet another reason to visit. According to Disney Parks Blog, an “Inside Out” attraction is coming to Disneyland in California, and although it won’t open until 2019, the initial announcement and concept art is enough to get anyone who loved the hit 2015 movie excited.

The ride, which will be located in the Inside Out Headquarters neighborhood of Pixar Pier, will be called “Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.” The ride’s concept art shows characters from the movie (including Joy and Sadness, who are featured on the sign for the ride), including plenty of core memories as riders circle around the main platform.

“Located on the western end of the pier, the lush and colorful Inside Out Headquarters will be the future home of Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind!” Disney Parks announced. “Making its Pixar Pier debut in 2019, this whimsical family-friendly attraction inspired by “Inside Out” will be — not surprisingly — full of emotions.”

“Inside Out” followed the emotions inside a brain of a girl named Riley as she moved across the country with her family. In her head, her emotions — Fear, Disgust, Joy, and Sadness — often clashed as she navigated her new school and missing her old friends as sad core memories began to replace the happy ones. It was up to Joy and Sadness to find a way to work together to save Riley and her most precious memories alongside her former imaginary friend, BingBong.

This isn’t the only way “Inside Out” will be represented at Pixar Pier.
Earlier this month, Disney Parks announced that BingBong’s Sweet Stuff will open later this summer, offering up candy and Pixar-themed merchandise in celebration of the beloved character.

Disney Parks also announced another ride coming in 2019. Jessie’s Critter Carousel will be a twist on a traditional carousel, featuring the “Toy Story” cowgirl’s friends from Woody’s Roundup.

Pixar Pier is now open at Disney’s California Adventure.
