Walt Disney World’s re-envisioning of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs is getting closer to completion.
Construction on Disney Springs’ The Landing, an area focused on an old commercial waterfront district, is slated to continue, according to a new notice of commencement permit filed with Orange County. Disney Springs has been busy preparing for big restaurant openings this month with Morimoto Asia and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar.
Other work includes improvements to existing resorts like Pop Century, Boardwalk by Epcot, Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Riverside and more.
Projects like these are very common from Disney. The theme park giant is constantly performing maintenance on attractions, resorts and retail year-round to keep it operating at that “Disney-level.” In turn, the improvements help keep guests happy and, hopefully, returning to the region and contributing to Central Florida’s $60 billion tourism industry.
